UPDATE!!! Gran Turismo Sport

A release date has finally been announced after all the delays. Looks like the official date is 10/17/17 (Tuesday).

Here's the trailer that announced the date.

================================================== ============================

Anyone excited about this game? Should be released mid November 2016 in NA.

Lack of cars and tracks reminds me of GT 5 Prologue...but still.

My last one was GT 5...I skipped GT 6 since I made the move to PS4 and it had no PS4 support.

Also curious what the experience will be like with PlayStation VR/Project Morpheus (release date ~ October 2016)...it's supposed to be supported by this game.

================================================== ============================

Some great news! PD is bringing career mode back to GT.

I'm definitely gonna check it out. Been a loyal Gran Turismo fan since the early days on the first Playstation.

IMO, VR is the future of racing simulators. I've used triple monitor setups in a race cockpit before but it's nowhere near as immersive as a VR headset and a steering wheel. Plus, the VR setup is going to be much more cost effective and space efficient.

Same here, the GT games were the reason I bought a PS1 and the PS2.

I've already moved on from the GT series to the much more realistic Assetto Corsa and with the Rift, the experience is just incredible. But I'm still excited for GT Sport because I've always been a huge fan of the GT series since the very beginning. I even think GT6 physics is far superior than Forza on the next gen. So yea modern graphics in GT will be awesome. I do hope they made huge strides in the physics department.

Already preordered my copy. Can't wait to give it a try. Been playing Project Cars on PS4 for a bit. It's great, but not GT. Stoked on the release and VR capability.

Same here, preordered the premium version from Amazon because it comes with some perks.

I've tried Project Cars for about a week but just couldn't get used to it. The 1M kept spinning out at the slightest application of throttle. Googled it and a lot of people were adjusting steering setting and stuff...that was too much work for me so I sold/traded it...

Incredibly excited for this game. I bought both Project Cars and DriveClub + G29 a couple months ago in anticipation.

Ended up getting rid of Project Cars as I need unlocks to keep me interested. DriveClub actually has been a bit more challenging than GT6 if you're aiming for Gold Medal times. I got a bit of info here about my experience at E3 and some content I found online. Stoked

Will AC support the upcoming VR devices as well? How does it compare as a simulator to GT?

It supports them on PC now. Not sure about on consoles. I grew up in with the GT series and will always be a fan, but GT physics is a joke compared to AC. Porsche and Ferrari both use AC to showcase their cars in simulation now.

Can't argue with that.

Has anyone been able to find a comprehensive car/track list?

Game was supposed to launch with 140 cars, but according to this article and the creator, it could feature as many as 500 after some time...

Which consoles will this support? I love Gran Turismo, but I bought my kids an XBox1 (which I may use a little also) because they revolted when I bought a Playstation 4.

The Gran Turismo series has always been a PlayStation exclusive.

I haven't seen anything like that rumored, but you never know...not sure what would prevent Polyphony Digital from diversifying.

So, it's starting to look like GTS won't have a traditional offline career mode like all the previous installments. All career races will be multiplayer online.

This may be a deal breaker for me even though it's pre-ordered.

DELAYED!

Game is being delayed until sometime in 2017. Very disappointing. The lack of a hard date is worrisome.

Apparently PD is allowing people to record gameplay at various show booths, albeit without the audio. I wonder what that's about...

Anyone have a link to the new video they posted for Nurburgring gameplay? Can't access anything at the moment.

Now its pushed back to 2017... probably going to be at least another 6 months IMO.
