I'm guessing the Audi had better winter tyres than the Merc and BMW. I don't understand why the Audi didn't slide down the ski slope once stopped but the Merc did. Only tyres can stop that, nothing to do with forward traction.

I had an A4 about 10 years ago, solid car. I really loved the thing, it was comfortable, fast and great in all conditions. It had the 1.8 turbo, the engine was great, until the turbo packed it in, Audi wanted about $7K to fix it. I got my cheap and cheerful mechanic to do a quick fix with an aftermarket turbo and head gasket and then traded it for a Volvo V70 AWD wagon, I still have the thing. What a tank. It's 10 years old now and has 225K KM on it, just about broken it. I guess this is a little off the point but I'll come back to it, I love having an AWD for my daily. Would I have another Audi, maybe. But regardless, the DD will always be AWD.

What nonsense. I have driven multiple xDrive 5ers including both sedan and Touring of the M550d xDrive and on proper winter tyres they do not perform like the cars in this video.
Even a 730d xDrive Pure Excellence on winter tyres did not do this either.

Garage List
Marketing 201: Second tier brands always indulge in comparative advertisements taking a shot at segment leaders because they feel like they have something to prove. Cheating with tires just shows Audi's desperation
