what would you choose....if you ever considered
so i think im ready to depart from my current x5 decked to the 9s....
hoping to bring into a dealer for a trade value of 50k-60k, i own outright so i will use that equity in full for a new vehicle. 2016 M3 with competition package, adaptive handling, DCT transmission. i will tune first, then add exhaust and minor suspension bits 2016 Audi S6 with Sport package (Sport Diff, Dynamic Steering, Sport Exhaust) I will tune after a few thousand miles with APR well over 500HP and 600TQ and Quattro All wheel drive. used RS7/S8 and tune eventually dont know what else..... i really want sporty full time, i had an S6 before my current x5 so with the updates they did i know it is a luxury sleeper sedan i could enjoy. the M3 is just an all around great drivers car, but i prefer more interior space and a larger vehicle, i think? i had a tuned 335i N54, loved it but hit too many curbs, i have matured, but i prefer 4wheel drive because i cant handle myself....it keeps me safe and engaged. what cars would you consider in to 70K-90K range? i need something FAST s6 with a tune is a bargain powerhouse sports sedan

The 2016 M3/M4 is a phenomenal car out of the box. With some mild modding, they get even more fun (intake, chargepipes, downpipes, tune). The S6 is a great car as well, little roomier vs. the M3 for sure...so if space is what you need, that might be a good bet. Great looking car too. To keep it German, what about something on the Benz side?

I would check out the M4. Word is you can get huge deals on M4s right now especially in comparison to the M3. You can't go wrong with any of the cars you listed however. Happy choosing!!!

S6 as you've stated you want the extra room. Can't go wrong either way. Both have very proven tuning options.
I go back and forth on whether I like the S7's overall 5-door coupe look. When I see a stock one, I say 'meh', but then when I run into a modified one, I say 'wow!', so if you will externally modify the RS7, I'd vote for that. R/S8 too big for my tastes.

$70 to $90K? Relatively roomy interior and performance to spare?
Lightly used RS7 or S8 all the way. S6 wouldn't be the worst choice in the world either and you could save some dough. Audi has been killing it with the uber versions of their sedans. Or just say screw everybody and get a Hellcat. |

Mercedes AMG C63 S
Cadillac ATS-V/CTS-V Since you mentioned the M3 obviously gotta take a look at its competition as well. I threw in the CTS since you mentioned a larger vehicle. |

Don't count out the X5M if you want large and fast. It is quicker than the M3 on a road track. Also 2 seconds quicker to 100mph than the 50i. Good luck ! |

M3 with competition package is awesome out of the box and might not even need further tuning at all.
I like C63 S coupe but the sedan version looks no where as aggressive as M3 so M3 all the way.

@X5Jouster , are you going to enjoy it on the street only or also track?
If you are just for the street, a used M5/M6 are within your budget. But if you are trying to enjoy it on the track, you can just forget about it. I am getting rid of my F06 650 too, car just to heavy where I can't even enjoy it on the track. If you are considering track use, they both still do-able, just don't expect it to be able to nimble like the M3/M4. The N63tu motor itself is a beast, I able to enjoy the car on the long straight, but on the turns, just forget about it.

I would look at an S7. It's a unique car, fun to drive, sporty. Often overlooked too.

i loved my 2014 S6 and they gave it even more power, moved the engine rearward, and updated the fascia.

not a fan of the c63, always liked the way they looked and the new C body is impeccable, brother has a c3XX? would prefer the AWD E63 any day, but it is enticing for the price of a c63 amg S? i need to do due diligence. and test drive baby!
