The NYPD is facing a lawsuit from a woman who claims she was mistakenly put into a mental hospital, simply because police didn't believe she owned her own BMW.

Kamilah Brock, a 32-year-old banker from Long Island, was pulled over in Harlem for allegedly driving without her hands on the wheel. She was arrested, then released without charges.

"I was confused and did not know what was going on, why I was being taken into custody," Brock said to PIX11. “The officer said, 'why are you driving without your hands on the wheel?' I said I was dancing, I am at a light, he asked me to get out of the car.”

I was thinking the same thing; how does the topic of Obama come up without it sounding completely random and maybe a little off? I read about this last night, and it seem like there's some things that don't totally add up.
1: it's an old ass car, which almost anyone can afford to get from any side lot.
2: why did the cops impound the car? Unless I missed that, I don't recall why.
3: I really want to know why and how Obama became part of her conversation with the cops.

The cops are probably wrong with how they handled her, if she truly has no prior history.
I doubt we will get the cop's story and this will just fade into the wind.

Obviously there is a lot more to this story.

Most likely she:
1. flipped the fuck out on the cop who asked her why she drove with her hands up.. She caused such a scene that he arrested her.
2. Upon release she went back to the precinct to claim her car and probably flipped the fuck out so bad (probably also made verbal threats) that it warranted the cops to get her taken to a mental institution.

All we are seeing is her side of the story and to me she sounds like she's full of shit.

Don't get me wrong I'm sure she did something wrong, but really who pulls someone over for dancing at a stop light?

Plus we all know that a 2003 325ci (the actual car she owns) isn't very expensive in the grand scheme of things but to someone who just thinks "BMW = Expensive" won't know the difference, especially if the car is in good shape.

Cops are not morons... Ok I guess some are but the majority can tell the difference between a older model 325 (worth a few thousand) and a brand new M6. I doubt that the car was the reason she was committed. There is probably a lot more to the "dancing" story than she claims too.

Oh I didn't mean to say cops are morons, just that people who don't know much about cars will just default to assuming that a BMW, no matter how new or old it is, is going to be worth a lot of money unless the car is falling apart.

I know people with BMW's as old as an E46 and people who aren't into cars will just think it a "fancy BMW".

No, I agree with what you are saying 100%. It's just that I doubt we are getting the whole story here.. I'm positive she did a lot more at that police station then just asking for her car.

Yes, there is a possibility she could be delusional, but let's face it the Police hasn't had the best track record lately. It would be nice to hear the arresting officer side of the story, the (Un covered up version), or better yet the footage from Police dash cam.

I posted this in the other thread as well, but if you google around for the story from different sources, some (while still being pretty one-sided) show that they suspected her of being high on marijuana during the stop, and said she was behaving erratically, ran into the intersection, etc. She denies the crazy behavior, but it's funny how she says that the reason her car was impounded is "unclear" when at the very least, there was the weed thing.

I think that even tho we can all agree on the fact that clearly the story is missing parts, under no circumstances should any person be treated that way period.... and anybody who claims the laim "she deserve it" I bet you wouldn't be saying the same if it was your wife, sister or mom...

It should be rather simple to produce the make of the impounded car, then she if she was delusional.

There we go now the story is starting to make sense. Wouldn't be surprised if she was on something when she went to pick up her car too. Now if she gets a good lawyer and wins her silly ass case, she might finally be able to upgrade to a Fxx series BMW.
