Hmmm.. the 135i is no joke (course not, has the same engine as our cars assume you have a 335i or 535i).... It's subjective, but to me the 135i had it over the porsche in the drift contest.

regular cayman was already 6000 pounds more than the 135i with M stuff all over it. caymen S is even more than that, and they'd be completely different cars for different purposes

135 shoots down Cayman?

please, it was a difference by one second.

You can't even really compare the cars, one is a 2 seater and the other is an entry level four seater... two different markets

it doesn't.. but i think they have something call Automatic Brake Differential or something, like one side of the rear wheel's brake will control the amount of spin that the inside cornering wheels gets when the power comes, so all the propulsion won't be wasted spinning the tire that has less grip

No question about it. If I didn't have the cash for an M3, I'd take a 135i any day.

the cayman S is a pure sports car, the 135 and m3 are not.
i understand where you're coming from, but the cayman S is obviously a better suited lap car than a 135i - imo the cayman S vs. 135i comparison would be a joke. the 135i wouldn't even stand a chance.

the 135i starts at 36k. the cayman S almost doubles the price(~63k). the base cayman is also more expensive than the 135i(50k). the fact that the 135i beats the cayman on the track while also having more practicality with 4 seats and some actual trunk space, speaks alot about how good that car is. let's not talk about how badly the 135i would rape the cayman & cayman S if you spent $30k on the 135i to bring it up to what you'd pay to get a cayman S.

Agreed, a better comparison would of been the Cayman S VS the 135I. Once Porsche gets off their a** and gets serious with a LSD for the Cayman, and putting in the 3.6 Liter the Base 911 has, then its lights out for many cars including the 911 itself. Cayman is a purer mark. The 135i is a nice place to start.

I think is definitely a surprise- a 135i beating a Cayman? I didn't think that would happen...props to BMW for that one.
