Maybe if you don't have it legal. I have got pulled over 2 times in the 2 last weeks. Both by troopers and I just told them I have a concealed pistol and a license for it, and they were like ok.

What you anti-gun people always fail to understand is this-
Guns, or for that matter ANY inanimate object is MORALLY NEUTRAL! Guns cannot be good or evil, they simply exist. PEOPLE ARE GOOD OR EVIL. Water can drown you or keep you alive, fire can heat your house or burn you to a crisp, drugs can save your life or kill you dead, knives can cut your ham or cut your throat.. It's the USE of an object by the human this is good or evil, not the item itself. Any attempt to regulate the object will always fail as it has no ultimate effect on the behaviour, which again is where the crime or the good is executed. Heroin is illegal everywhere right? Yet herion is pretty much readily available if you really want it. |

I keep a Springfield XD .40 Compact in my map pocket. I got it because it is just about the perfect size and firepower for this spot and most expected confrontations where it might be neccessary. For carry on my person I have a Ruger LCP and a Taurus 85. I haven't liked any of the in car holsters I have seen yet, but then again I live in Seattle where crime isn't too bad so I don't expect a sudden car jacking.

I just love the naivete presented by folks that have no clue about what true evil in this world looks like. They continue to play their PS3, head over to CostCo, sip on their mocha-lattes, argue why Family Guy is better than the Simpsons on the internet and then wake up the next day and just do it all over again.
Man has both the incredible power to do immense good but as well as heinous evil and if you haven't noticed, it is hardly the law-abiding citizenry that takes party to the latter. That danger could be as far away in a country you can not pronounce or as close as your next door neighbor. To protect against such malifence, there has to be a willingness to apply a moral conscious to society and that responsibility does not and should not fall solely within the arms of the government. You may live your whole life and never see this kind if evil, that does not obviate the reality of its existence. This has nothing to do with fear but a grown-up and not a child's eye view of the world around us. Ayn Rand's Quote is most prescient: "A government is the most dangerous threat to man's rights: it holds a legal monopoly on the use of physical force against legally disarmed victims." |

I don't carry a gun because it's illegal without a CWP in CA, you see I obey laws. Apparently the convicted felon who shot 4 cops in Oakland didn't get the memo.
There, for all that matters, is the net effect of California's strict gun laws |

I am tickled reading this thread. Where is Ayoob Massad when we need him to explain things?

Just stumbled on this... Oooops! Anyway if people really had a clue how many people around them are packing heat, they'd loose their minds. And all the idiots who are so hot to get into altercations on the highways would think twice and choose a better alternative. Scarily shit for sure.

just applied for mine There's a huge surge in demand for gun permits just like the ammo surge. People are afraid that Obama might make it much harder to obtain them in the near future. So excerise your rights while you still have it.

Yeah, there was a huge rush on ammo for a few months, but people bought WAY more than they'll use, and now sales have fallen drastically. The notion that Obama is going to make sweeping changes to the gun laws overnight just isn't very realistic. |

CCW is a dream in LA county...pretty amusing with all the intellect supposedly in the world, that the vast majority of them don't even take the time to familiarize themselves with a simple device as a gun. If you don't touch it, it won't go bang. If you don't step on the accelerator, it won't go fast. If you don't turn the gas on, well, there's no gas.
