Remember the big TQ and power is very linear; you don't realize just how fast you're going until you look at the (200mph max) speedo and think, "holy sh!t!" But, it's the sound of the big 6.2L V8 + quad AMG exhaust that got me hooked in the first place. Enjoy!

That C63 means business in that color. It looks like it's gonna make the e92 its bitch.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Going from a twin-turbocharged I6 to a naturally aspirated V8 is definitely a big change. After driving about ~300 miles in two days, I am really enjoying the linear power delivery and growling exhaust note. Highway monster for sure.

FWIW, I had my first real run with another car today, and it was a cool one too. I "played" with an ('06-'08???) Audi RS6 on the hwy. My car is stock right now, and interestingly enough, he couldn't pull on me, but I couldn't pull on him either. I gunned it and he stayed right behind me at about the same distance in the upper speed range for about 1 mi. We shut it down only after about 1 min. as we were both getting off the hwy at the same exit; I rolled down my window and gave him the and he just smiled. I have no idea if he was stock (I'm guessing yes, but idk???). I know the RS6's (S4's, RS4's, etc.) are heavy pigs, but it seemed to have plenty of power (>500BHP) as I couldn't pull on him. However, I'm thinking if I actually get that $1,495 Kleemann K1 ecu flash (which provides another ~ +50BHP/~+30 lb-ft TQ), then it would be a different story and the RS6 would be WALKED.

I'm really not trying to keep this thread going, but I just noticed this on AutoSpies.com, and thought I would share a superbly written new review of the MB C63 AMG ...

Good review, but I disagree on a few points:
1) The steering isn't heavy. It's relatively light compared to the e92, but much more precise (with arguably better road feel). 2) It doesn't weigh 3600lbs...I don't know how he came to that assumption. 3) It's not Alpine White lol. It is like a drug though, that's for sure.

I just put my deposit down for one of these C63 AMGs.
The only thing I just found out and am a little sad about is the lack of traffic updates for the navigation. In DC where the traffic is the 2nd worst in the nation, it does help to have this now and then. Anyway, I can't wait to get the damn thing.

You're going to LOVE it!!!!! Yes, some things are a trade off with the C63 AMG (definitely doesn't have all the high-tech stuff as the BMWs, although you will appreciate the MB C63's navi system sans rtti much more than the BMW navi), but everyday when you start her up and drive off, you'll forget about the things she doesn't have. Enjoy!

I did get an excellent deal after all from a different dealer about 25miles north of my place. ASC just wasn't willing to play ball. I e-mailed the sales adviser my credit card number for the deposit and told him see you when I pick up the car. You gotta love the internet, you can order a car sight unseen.

I did have my gripes about not having the live traffic for a couple of hours but then I rolled the windows down and forgot about all of that tech. We've got a little C63 owners group brewing now that a few are making the switch.

Well, I was originally supposed to put an order down for a new C350 this past Monday. I test drove the 350 and found myself content. For fun, my friend (and salesman) was joking around and told me to test drive the C63 they had on the lot. Bad idea, as soon as I turned on the engine, I was tickled. It was beyond my budget, but when the test drive was done, I could justify its price. No more 330ci for me, I'll post pics of this beast later. I never thought I'd be owning this car, but it made the C350 look like a punk. It seems like this is the route everybody is taking haha
