I texted the dealer to find out why it was pushed so far back. This is for an i5 X40. I was intially going with Oxide Gray but after looking at the Carbon Black in person at the dealer, I changed my mind. It is just so appealing to the eye.

Carbon black is a really interesting color in my opinion. I like how it shifts based on lighting. Probably will require a bit more work for the upkeep, but I’m going to have it ceramic coated to help with that!

It still says completion date of 9-11. I have never gotten a dealer delivery date. Even The genius line wasn’t able to provide that information. 🤷‍♂️

So Strange we all get different data. When My guy looks it shows Week 36 to build, and predicted week 41 delivery to Dealer. IDK. Maybe because mine is coming by truck and not ship it's easier to predict.

I am vicariously living my build through all your posts. I have a week 36 build but in my country there is no equivalent tool to track where the car is in production.

I think the best I can do is speculate based on shipping times.

My best guess would be arrival in Baltimore on October 3rd or 6th, based on the Wallenius & Wilhelmsen schedule.

My order (550e) has been in quality control status since last Thursday (9/5). However today was the first time I was able to download the manual, etc for my VIN in the BMW guide app. At least I can start RTFM while I wait. haha.

I've been at QC for over a week. These 550e's must need extra checking.

Nice, it's finally in the paint booth. Today it will probably be in Assembly. Not sure but I think mine is done. The broker told me yesterday he can no longer get updates as it has passed out of production into the delivery phase. So now he has to get updates from the local dealer that will be receiving and prepping the car for me when it gets here. He should have something for me this afternoon.

Mine which was also WK 36 but it started right on the first day of WK36 has gone from 150 to being 195 AT SEA! Within a week. I’m shocked at how it’s got to sea so quickly as of yesterday.

Although I vaguely remember reading somewhere that, at sea, can mean that they’ve just scanned the VIN.

The car is checked in but the boat may not have left? Because I can’t see any boats leaving between the 5th and the 12th and I wasn’t on the 5th.

True. Kinda like when Fedex says your package has shipped, but it really has not even left the warehouse yet, they just scanned a ticket with your tracking #. Lol.

Lol. Doesn't the waiting get worse as you get closer though? I still wish they would send us photos or clips of the different stages of OUR builds. Or maybe even a website you could enter your VIN and watch it pass through the different stages.

That's a great idea! You'd think with barcodes they'd be able to capture production line images or short videos to keep you from going crazy with anticipation. lol

Could it be that they found an issue that needs correcting? My 540 went through production last week and is now enroute to port of exit.
