Good news! I have found that most help desks, when not specific to a feature or product, are basically worthless, though you can occasionally get somebody who knows what the hell they are talking about.

What as the problem?

Don't do it!!! Persistant misfires suck though, I understand your frustration.

Yea it is annoying me....haven't driven the car in over a week...can't decide if it's going to end up being a money pit if I keep it or not

Has anyone tried the Okada coilpacks for this car yet?

There have a been a few who have tried them. Denzo did as well as one other member I remember. Denzo found his misfire to be tuned based, since as soon as he switched away from one tune to another things were fine.

I think the Okada coils are still up in the air, in terms of how useful they are. Some of the PTF people are using them, as are a few big whp N54 guys, I think Enrita uses them as well. Angerman if you've already swapped out coils and plugs, valve cleaning would be a good place to go next. Not cheap I know Or perhaps you have a leaky injector, not too common but it happens. Ugh just thinking about misfires makes my head spin.

I figured the JB4 was the culprit with the misfire, or at least had some sort of play into whatever it is that went bad to cause the misfire. As soon as I put it on map 0, it was idling a lot better. Can't decide if I'm going to sell the JB4 and get COBB, or what I'm going to do next. I still have downpipes to install on it so I guess I'm going to keep it for a while longer and switch out some things

I'm just looking for options that are better than the stock OEM crap. I think it might be an injector, because I was running E85 for a good two thousand miles - probably clogged up or something. Yea, I'm going to get a valve cleaning soon...maybe next two thousand miles, or when I get more money saved after this fiasco

Not sure if anybody else deals with the public sector on a regular basis, but damn do I hate them! We have been going around and around on a deal with one state's DoA for almost 4 months on something that would normally take 2 weeks. Every public sector customer we have is the same way, and it just makes me want to pull my hair out.

Thankfully it's Fat Tuesday, so people will be in full form of drinking tonight here in the great white Midwest.

Cars apparently done. Was the injector. Cost me about $937 for that shop visit. Not including the $280 tow fee, or the first shop visit which was about $600. Wow.

My injectors 1-4 bombed last year. Replacement of all plus a few 100k items while the car was apart cost me $2500...this shit is expensive

They have no apparently revised the injectors again (to fix N67 issues) and now if one breaks and you can't fix it, you get to replace all 6 since the new aren't compatible with the old. So if you do have an injector go, hope like hell you can find an "old" one so you don't have to replace 6 of them bad boys.

It definitely isn't as easy going as replacing the injectors in a Honda S2000, or even a civic SI. The problem with DI engines I guess.....don't even want to think of this happening again any time soon. I was going to just replace ALL the coilpacks, spark plugs, injectors, as well as the HPFP (just to do it for piece of mind); before this even happened....but I couldn't get to it in time. The cost of that though....

Anyone know any good shops that sell coilpacks/injectors/HPFP/spark plugs - for future reference? I paid 75$ a coilpack at one shop, and $295 for one injector at another shop....

I have heard from two different places about not being able to replace 1 injector (BMW has to do it). So I called this performance shop (AT Speed Motorsports; Hanover, MD). They diagnosed the car and got it running and seems to be running "fine" again. Other shops in my close area were saying that the car has specific injector types for each cylinder, and they can't replace just one. This place replaced it and the car is running again. They specialize in "BMW/Porsche." This engine is confusing the hell out of me.
