That's not a bad thing. Most of the repair/tire shops around here close at noon on Saturday.

Today we bought r/t tickets to NYC for our annual trip in May. Very odd pricing. We usually fly out of the local airport (Champaign) to Chicago and then to Laguardia. Those tix today were a stunning $1140 for both of us. If we drive to Chicago (3.5 hrs) and take the same ORD-LGA leg, the price is $666. So there is nearly a $500 charge for the 2 of us to take a 25 minute flight to ORD. Normally the difference is much, much smaller. It's almost never worth driving to Chicago, at least not for ticket costs. Flight reliability is another story.
So the r/t tix from ORD to LGA with Main Cabin Extra seating were around $750. Then they (United) offered an upgrade to First Class on the outbound flight for $79 each, which we took, of course. The same upgrade coming back was well over $500 each. I was like, WTF? ORD to LGA is on Memorial Day, return flight is the following Saturday. I would have thought the Memorial Day flight with people heading home after the long weekend would have been pricier. What's with the huge difference in prices? The cheaper fuel sure isn't being reflected in the ticket prices. Good time to own airline stock, I guess.

The auto insurance went into a new 6 mo. period today. I saw the new ID cards on my admin's desk/inbox, but she is away skiing at Killington all week. Now, I have to wait for her to come back next Monday, as the ID cards need to be individually cut using scissors.

Ugh. <shudder> Cutting anything in a straight line is so hard. Better to leave it to the pros.

Or if you have access to one of those guillotine-like paper cutters that'll work great. That's what I do with my insurance cards.

The damn keyless entry on my C300 has been crapping out in the cold weather. Pisses me off to have to dig the FOB out of my pocket so I can push the unlock button and get into my car. At least the keyless Go is still working. Still, embarrassing as hell to pull the door handle and fail. I swear I can hear snickering when I have to use the FOB.

That does suck. My keyless entry is overly sensitive. Car constantly unlocks when I'm washing the car and have the key in my pocket.

The co. hired a new chauffeur. The guy always asks for the exact address. What I mean is if you give him the name of the building, he will ask for the address and won't leave until he has it. It's like the avenue and cross street don't mean anything.
Me: Trump Tower Nc: What is the address? Me: It's at 57th and 5th. Nc: Yes, but what is the actual address? Me: I dunno, 725 Fifth, at 57th. Nc: How do you spell Fifth? Me: Foxtrot, India, Foxtrot, Tango, Hotel. Nc: Trump Tower is a hotel? Meanwhile, the car is still idling and we haven't left the curb. |
