I started Assist today a little later into my drive than usual, let myself get established on the highway more clearly…and it engaged smoothly and stayed steady….up until I got to this one spot on the freeway where the lines are faded out briefly. It did an urgent, red, hands on wheel alert…I’ve gone over that spot a dozen times now and never had an issue before the update. It managed that spot fine before…every single time.

Maxium AC charging power changed with update...
When I plugged into a level 2 charger after the update I noticed that the max charge rate was set at 1KWH. I had to reset it to 48KWH.
Just a heads up. |

Yeah, I had set it back up to 48. Then today while at the fast charger, I saw it went back down again. New bug, I guess.

The first DC charge after the update at one of the typical EA chargers I use, and this is the first time that I've seen it charge at this level. It did start stepping down, but I would normally start at the 160 level and then step down. Wonder if they let it have a little bit more charging power.

Alewife - I’ve seen that type of power level prior to the update. At one point I was over 200 for a bit at a charger. It is very inconsistent and unpredictable. I’ll be DC charging today so I’ll see if I notice any difference.

In the My BMW app, there is a charging setting where one can either set a limit for AC charging or have it unlimited. For unlimited, it indicates it will be charged at the maximum available power. Is there a reason why one would want to set a hard limit for it?

Maybe if someone has old wiring or experiences electrical issues/heating circuits and wants the car to pull less than the maximum their charger is able to put out (just theorizing).

Yes, and that setting reverted from 48a to 6a. I previously kept it at 48a. It’s not unlimited, but 48a is at the top of the slider. When I went to charge, it was at 6a. After charging twice at home, it seems to stay put now.

I had some issues with this, but realized Location-Based Charging was enabled. When I turned that off, the issues ceased.
