As much as I like the black grill on my G30, I think the G60 may look better with the silver/aluminum grill surround.

Got my car yesterday. i5 M60. I love it. Looks much better in person. I will say BMW is cutting some costs in some strange places. Mats that come with the car are a complete joke - I am going to replace them anyway, but wow for a car at this price point. No soft close doors even though the manual has them in there. No M logos / trim on the door sills (bottom). Interior is nice, but I have a new X5 as well and the interior in the X5 is better. Power window shades are only on the rear. Great thing is the car drives and handles awesome and the power is great!

Agree on the X5 being more luxurious. If you configure one, you can get leather dash, B&W Diamond, soft close doors, massaging seats. It's the market the way that it has swung to SAV. I don't think that the 5 has ever had power shades on the side doors though, and neither does the X5. We may see some of these features added as time goes on.
My guess is that the next gen X5 will increase in price a decent amount. In a way, it already has. I would be paying $400 more per month to get more or less the same car I have now. Hence why I have my fourth 5 Series on order. |

Had the car less than a month and had someone cut me off and push the driver’s side into a guard rail. Caught the door and just the right angle and ripped it clean off.
Lucky for me the Taycan was still on the lot after a month. Negotiated 7% off MSRP plus the $7500 EV credit, bringing total off to $20k. BMW collision facility had a few techs come out to see the damage - they’ve never seen anything like it. Wonder if they will try and repair or if it’s totaled. Anyway - I’m enjoying everything about the Taycan except the infotainment. Bose speakers on it are much better than the B&W on the M60. Also miss the iPhone key feature from BMW. Taycan doesn’t do one-pedal driving like the M60, I assume because they want to keep drive feel consistent with their non-EV models. Miles/kwh are significantly lower. I was regularly getting 3+ miles/kwh on the m60. Taycan has averaged 2.1 over the first 300 miles and I’m driving similar to the m60. I only drive around town so this isn’t a big deal for me. Having a charge port on both sides of the car is handy. |

Jebus! Methinks if something caught the door like that, you are dang lucky it didn’t come into the car and grab you too!
Low Wh/mi is something the EV crowd generally holds against the Taycan. It’s probably a lot to do with tires and alignment settings set up for performance rather than efficiency. Just like the one-pedal drive setup designed to attract Porsche buyers, not EV buyers. |

I think all of them are great. I don't really understand how people "critique" others for liking a different one than the one they purchased. I finally landed on the I5M6 and so far, I absolutely love it. For me, I found it the most comfortable, I loved the HW Assistant, ambient lighting, and that it hall all of the comfort features (HUD, Overhead Parking ECT). Plus, I was very happy with my lease price. But, I also totally understand in someone wanted the Taycan. It drove fantastic and felt more like a sports car. But, the model I wanted was way more and I wanted a good driver assistance. Telsa rules the charging and battery. If that's important it's a great option. Lucid had a great package and EQS was soft and smooth. Its a great market segment for sure. |

Yeah, didn’t have much of an issue. Would’ve thought the safety systems would stop from driving but as long as your seatbelt is on, it’ll continue driving. Without seatbelt engaged it’ll put the car in park since it thinks the car is rolling away without a driver

Initial estimate is $30k. Wonder how long this will be in the shop
And just my luck that a truck sends a rock flying to the Taycan’s windshield a week after I get it. Guessing windshield replacement & driver assistance calibration will be $3-4k. |

Oh man! That sucks about the windshield. Happened to me a few weeks ago in our X5…while I was stopped at a stop sign! I have gone through a windshield in all the last 6 or so cars I’ve owned. They don’t make them like they used to. You don’t have glass coverage? Mine didn’t cost me anything and they used OEM glass because of the HUD.

I have never owned a Porsche, but when I bought my Jaguar, they offered a windshield protection coating plus a warranty against cracks or breakage. I opted for it as I get hit by rocks all the time. It really worked with not even a crack in 4 years.
