That's great. Pretty sure I remember a person doing this before and getting fined for it.
Counting those pennies will be the most work that .gov employee has done in the last year. The whole system is a scam anyway. It hurts the poor the most...as most .gov legislation does. |

I made out with the chick who did the cannonball documentary that turned into an Alex Roy chronicle. God her movie was terrible. Who can make the cannonball boring?

Haha thug life! Well pennies are legal tender so they would have to accept that payment, I'm sure the message of this person was directed towards the extremely high fines and since it causes the person who has the ticket an inconvenience to show up to court/ go to court to pay he gave them the inconvenience to match it. I don't accept his methods but boy was this great to watch lol

The guy was doing 39 in a 30, in a residential neighborhood. Going that fast down a street where kids play isn't cool, it's being a major idiot. While the total asshole side of me approves of that payment method, the sensible side of me thinks that being held accountable for being a douche-bag has a price to it. He paid his fine and put on a big show, but I have a feeling he'll be slowing his ass down in the future.

When I was young and trying to work out of some debt I ran into, a rude girl called telling me they will take me to court unless i pay at the end of the week and tried to negotiate with her to no avail. So I did the same thing...gathered up over $400 in rolled nickels and pennies and they actually tried to say I didnt bring enough change and was $75 short. Next day I showed up with the receipts from the bank and a tape recorder and all of a sudden I had the right amount of change.

While I agree there are plenty of situations (like residential areas) where speeding can be dangerous, it is not always the case. The following video is worth a look:

So all the time he spent doing that, he could have gone to court and not paid anything.

Lots of people have that same false sense of security. The reason for the limits, especially in residential areas, is that we can but control everything. The kids, the other drivers, the people out for a stroll, road work, etc. Get caught speeding, man up. At least take it somewhere where you only endanger yourself.

I couldn't either, until my own kids started playing and walking the street where I now see people (majority being busy moms actually in their SUVs) speeding to drop off their own kids at school. Funny how perceptions change quickly.

That said the speed limits in many areas of the country are insane. They finally raised the speed limit from 65 to 70 here on the turnpike and even that is to low. A few years ago some college students decided to drive across all 3 lanes from the PA border to Harrisburg blocking traffic as they went during rush house. It turns out traffic was backed up for hours because of that. No surprise to me though given I did part of that drive to high school each morning and I know first hand you can pass a state trooper doing 83 with no issue. Residential is one thing but general speed limit laws in America are bad. |
