I had one for about a month nearly 10 years ago. It attracted WAY too much attention so I sold it. One of the best looking watches I've ever owned.

VERY few people even comment on the 6263. Only watch people say anything, not the casual observer for sure.

Have you guys seen the new blue and gold Ploprof? Tried one on the other day, haven't actively been looking didn't even know this existed. Not everyone's cup of tea but it was stunning in person and a much more grownup version compared to the black or white.

It's better looking than the other PloProfs, for sure. I'm not much of a fan of the style, in general, to be completely honest.

The blue gold is soooooo much nicer than the previous versions though. Be a guy with a big watch as opposed to a douche with a big watch, if that makes any sense.

Obtainable grail (although I still dont see myself ever spending 7k or so on a watch....)
Zenith el primero 1969 reissue (or one of its variants) Nice watch, very nice movement with big historical significance... Holy unobtainium grail...euhmmm.... maybe something like a Patek 5208P? Very complicated movement and still wearable (not extremely overstated) But it costs about a million$.....

http://www.watches24seven.com/panera...matching-dial/ Not bad for a watch that cost about a grand back in the early 90s. Is it worth that price? No way, but they are VERY scarce, so supply/demand. |

I certainly get the attraction to the Pre-V stuff, but not in a way that would justify those crazy prices. I'll stick to buying 2nd-hand A-J series watches. Most of the new stuff leaves me cold, other than some of the pieces like the 449 or 372, the only "modern" piece I would really consider is the 356 "Dirty Daylight". I'm looking hard at the 027A that Bruce has on his website. I'm thinking I could get it somewhere a little below the $7K ask. There's something about those early center-seconds PAMs that I love. |
