I'm assuming you also make them triple mask before coming near you right? Respirator? After all much higher chances of death from some airborne illness than a car fire.

I blame my hate on EVs on never having a powerwheels growing up

I love my Apple Watch Ultra 2. This little princess uses it when hiking or running. Was great to capture the data from hiking the TMB this summer. I also use the watch as my car key when I am running.

I agree, EV vs. a performance or enthusiast ICE loses. But EV vs. any kind of regular-ass ICE car / CUV / SUV for duty that 80% of the public uses it for (commuting and trips)...EV is better.
But people buy cars for 100%, the other 20%...

For sure it has it's uses for outdoor sporty types, for my bike though I don't need anything like that and in this sub-zero weather here now the indoor bike is getting a good use.

I've also liked always having the temp/humidity readouts. It's great for looking at pages or text messages. I still have an Omega Seamaster but I just don't wear it anymore.

Create an affordable EV with 350 miles of battery range and 5 minutes of recharge time with uncompromised cabin heat in the winter, and I'd bet you'd have nearly 80% market adoption.
Even 20 mins charge time in -30 C is no fun. Think about -30 C with charging time of 90 mins or longer without fast charger. This is risky or worse called it stupid.

You should not get an EV. You have overwhelming niche fears. Just enjoy life and stay with ICE for a while longer.

Most people supercharge for shorter periods and would sit in their heated cars and watch Netflix or play a game on the Steam platform or watch a video on Youtube about why EVs are a terrible idea or would charge at home and be inside relaxing while watching Youtube videos about why EVs are a terrible idea.

Think you mis-understood.

80% of the public does not buy an enthusiast vehicle. For them, EV is likely equal or better.

Totally agree with you but our Canadian government are pushing us to switch to EV.

You forget to mention EV are good for summer too. Last summer during the heat wave, my friend stayed in his EV and enjoying the cold air coming out of his EV while watching Netflix all day long. FYI, his house's A/C just can't keep up with the heat. He also sleep in his EV for 2 days.

Considering anyone can be a man nowadays, I don't think it's that outlandish.

That's Malung, Sweden. It's a halfway point from ski resorts back to Stockholm. Probably wouldn't make EV policy for the planet Earth on an unusual demand event. There were places to stop and charge a bit earlier on the return but too many people decided to try to stop and charge only once.

Saw this comment on Reddit:
"I was there this week.

The small village mentioned, Malung, has the last Tesla supercharger station before the big ski resorts in this part of Sweden. Everyone from the south of Sweden (or Denmark, Germany, Netherlands etc. for that matter) stops at this supercharger on the way there or back and it becomes a bottleneck for the thousands of tourists with electric cars. It has little to do with the union strike.

Gas station also ran out of gas at the same time."
