I could see the utility of a commuter EV, as it would be quiet and efficient in traffic without too much hassle.
But for any car intended to be utilized for fun / enjoyment, the approach is not my cup of tea. Very fast, no doubt, but lacking in other areas important to the experience, namely sound. I also believe the current state of the US electrical grid isn’t equipped to produce enough electricity for a widespread adoption of the technology itself. Until EVs are 1). Competitively priced, 2). Can recharge in the same time it takes to fill a gas tank, and 3). Part of a reliable charging network / infrastructure to support widespread adoption, then you’re never going to see people convert en masse.

Tesla Cybertruck Owner in Canada Says the Truck is “Dangerous” After Experiencing First Drive in the Snow; Forced to Slow Down to 25 Mph on the Highway & Stop Multiple Times to Clean the Headlights.
Someone told me the Cybertruck were designed and build to run on Mars. Too bad so sad, you are using them on earth. Are you dump or what https://www.torquenews.com/11826/tes...ve-snow-forced |

Car prices have risen over 46% in the last 3 years, while financing is harder to secure and more costly. Electric cars continue to be rebated allowing them to undercut the ridiculous prices of new cars whose inventory are still piling up.
Evs have been and always will be a stupid idea and aren't saving anything - including money. More money and resources have to be spent on building new cars, new infrastructure, and most of the cars are absolutely disposable. How does this save the planet? I basically ignore anyone in Canada and California when they post because they are the type to jump on any new fad because the government tells them to. The government and "science" could (and basically have) crap on them and they would believe it's mana. |

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Battery for the Cybertruck did not catch fire and contained the explosion fairly well. Video shows some of the burned contents in the truck bed including gas canisters. |

No I do not think EVs save the environment, paying a carbon footprint price larger than a ICE car first, just to get ahead in a few years is a stupid idea when global warming is already as bad as it is, best to reduce your footprint now with investments in infrastructures like high speed rail and drastic improvements to public transportation. Having said that, I am eyeing a Polestar 2 for the wife to replace our ailing X5. The dealer cash offer and the iZEV credit here, and the deals happens to work very in our favor right now compared to financing a low mileage plug in. In the end, it suits my financial needs and use now, so why the hell not. I am not buying it to 'save the planet'. I was gun-ho about a PHEV since we use the car for both slow in-town traffic, and long road trips, and a PHEV would fit that role perfectly, but the local X5 45e fetches a very high premium to a gas one (about 20k CAD difference for similar year and mileage), same story with the X3 30e (about 16-18k in general), not to mention finance rates are still quite unattractive
