My favorite interior so far is actually the f30, though my former e34 touring is a close second. Both were black leather... the b was black as well.

Urrrrgh can't do red. Ever. Porsche has some absolutely BRUTAL interiors. The 997 beige is just filthy bad. Blue, red ...all look shite.

That's a nice shade of red in the Porsche too, I'm not a fan of those "in your face" bright reds for the inside of a car, leave it to the paint job if that's what you want.
Black leather is so boring it should be outlawed on higher end cars. Still love terra brown in my e90. |

FUnny you say that, the older I get the more I like cloth or alcantara or whatever, leather just seems too plush and not sporty enough for Porsches etc.

I like the Singer interior (other than that gawd-awful shift boot), but it seems no one on this board owns a Singer. As a side note, I'll never understand why the Singer V1 has that terrible shift boot and those horrible exhaust tips. What let-downs. The new exhaust tips aren't much better either. |

I always liked the red/black S2000 interior as well. They make this interior with a solid red dash as well, and it's just too much, but with the black I think it's really nice.

Look at when the S2000 was designed as well, starting 1997... Put new tech in the S2000 and you'd have better lap times, but I'd be sad if that were one of the goals. That car is really fantastic without any numbers, it just needed some tweaks. Imagine if it came in at the same 2,809, same trans (absolutely brilliant), same open-top, driver-focused fun, but had a lightweight V6 with the torque down low. The Achilles heal of the S2000 was always the lack of torque (not that it needed more, but that 98% of people wanted more). The car, IMO, is still very relevant today with nothing but a torque bump. Winner winner chicken dinner. |

Would cost billions to make and $80K to turn a profit. Seriously makes no sense when the Boxster occupies that space and the Miata has the lower rung.

The Boxter and Miata lost many thousands of sales to the S2000, as it offered a very different experience. And beyond that, produced just as it was in 2009 today, it's still a competitor, and $0 R&D. To make it a super strong competitor would take a minimal effort. I owned an S2000, and would not own a Boxter, or a new Miata...and I'm not alone. |

Then why have Honda not continued it? They are just willingly letting a cash cow sit idle?
Updating for safety and emissions alone would cost a MONUMENTAL amount. |

I think the car could be relevant again with a minimal of effort, so you and I will just have to agree to disagree on that. |

Come on man, minimal effort? Safety regs have changed immensely, as have emissions so for starters you'd need a new engine which is crazy expensive. Need a new interior design as well so basically new interior, new engine and new platform ... that is billions.
You can't just recycle a car from 2009 that started life as in 1999. Mazda had to partner with Fiat, Toyota had to partner with BMW ...... it makes no sense. or they would have done it already. |

1. They already have an engine that would work. 2. Safety regulations for convertibles aren't that different. 3. The platform is still stiffer than most current convertibles, so it's a body restyle. And Toyota did NOT have to partner with BMW, they chose to do so, and it was a terrible mistake IMO. |

There are some wacky Porsche interiors, but they are one of the few IMO that make a great looking black interior. Also stuff like Espresso, Cohiba brown, or any of the Club leathers (many of them) are so rich in feel and look.
