This really sucks for the OP, IMO.. He's never going to know the value of earning a car and the fact of the matter is, where exactly do you go from here? Does your dad get a Reventon as his "weekend car" and hand you the keys next time around?

I agree, but I'm interested to see what his response would be to your statement.

Why won't I ever know the value of earning a car? What happens when I need to buy myself, or my dad a car? I agree with you in that there isn't much more to look forward to in terms of automotive machinery...but is that all there is to life for you? I hope not. What car I'm going to drive in the future, and how I'm going to buy it isn't my biggest concern. Being able to support myself and my family however, is.

Thanks guys

Hula Hula - I totally agree about the interior. Have never seen such an amazing job and before buying I sat inside Ferraris, Porsches, Aston Martons, the R8, and the Spyker C8.

He didn't post it when I did the search. There was just a pic of the engine bay.

Take this advice from someone who knows:

Be wary of the "friends" who want to use you for your ride.

The problem isn't the money, it's the number of parents who just dump money at their kids and tell them to go have fun and never are a parent.

OP sounds much more mature than a lot of young 335 drivers on this board, so let him have something nice.

All I will say is to please be careful. Understand that I don't have anything wrong with you being young and having a nice car, but at 17 you DO lack a lot of experience, and hell, half the experience is how to deal with other idiots on the road. You're obviously going to give that thing hell sometimes, anyone who owns one would, just be careful doing so and don't put your life or anyone else's in danger. That's a lot of car that can get out of hand quick. I've had fast cars at a fairly young age myself and I learned quick driving them.

Other than that, congrats dude. That's a sick car. Post more pics!
Some need material possessions to make them happy, some do not. Many can afford to buy themselves 100 Lambos, but they choose to drive a 60k Lexus.

Some people can only afford 1-2 Lambos, and they choose to drive a Lambo.

It's all in what you value.

He may be in a family with parents that care about him.. But he is also in a family in which material possessions are a top priority.

Of course he will contest that statement because he is biased and lives with his parents, whom he considers to treat him very well, of course.

One can only imagine what would happen to the family dynamics if their possessions were taken away.

I am in a similar situation as him, except my family drives 60k cars. I can tell you that we would still be happy with everything taken away.

Our neighbor is one of those people that always has to have a new toy. A diablo here, a Ford GT there. He can afford it, he inherited some money.. But I can tell you that he isn't well respected among his peers.

In such hard economic times, when many of your friends are undoubtedly suffering, it is a slap in the face to roll up in your $150k car, whether you know it or not.

Of course you will contest my following statement, but I'm going to call BS. It's easy to say something like that, but when it actually happens you won't know what hit you. I've seen many people with money that are happy without spending it. Their excuses are usually the same as yours, but in actuality they are too cheap to spend their money. I understand people work hard for their financial status, but what is the point of having money if you're not going to spend it on things you want? If your family isn't interested in cars, then your point is invalid, making your post useless.
