we also have to keep in mind that the entire black house team has been working w/ Josh Janousek, a former nation wrestling champ, so maybe we will see better takedown defense from Silva
I have more faith in Nick Diaz beating GSP, than Okami beating Silva. I just personally don't see it |

Popular choice meaning most are picking silva to win not cause of nuthuggers. You really think diaz has a better chance? Diaz last lost I believe was a wrestler not even in same level as gsp. Sherk was it? Or kj noon? Whatever gsp wins by boredom
Oh Yah shogun will lose again

I think Diaz has a better chance of beating GSP on a good day but I wouldn't bet against GSP either. Diaz is in great form at the moment, it will be a great fight to see nonetheless. I'm sure GSP will have a perfect gameplan that he will implement and win on points. I do have more faith in Diaz beating GSP than Okami beating Silva though. Quote:
Anyways, Okami has gone the distance 7 out of his 9 last fights. He likes to go the distance and I suspect that's his only chance. The last guy Okami TKO'd has been released from UFC and the guy he KO'd before that ended up losing to Kendall Grove the next fight I think when someone backs the longest reigning successful undisputed champion in UFC against a fighter like Okami does not make me a nuthugger. I'm just going by the facts, on paper Silva looks much better and from what I've seen of both fighters he will win. The world champion has to consistently fight the no.1 contender in the division, he is always fighting the best, there are no easy fights and he's been on top of his game. Also I am still confused as to what your trying to say about the odds. Silva is paying 1.22 vs Okami paying 3.96. I have to say these odds are paying quite well for Silva as he normally pays around 1.08-1.12 and I suspect this will drop closer to fight day. Anyways you first explained that odds were based on which fighter is more popular. I disagreed with this and you went on to say most people are picking Silva to win not because of nuthuggers |

again, I will repeat. "Popular" choice is just a word I used, you can use "favored", "higher percentage" whatever it doesn't mean popularity contest..

Yea, great card for sure. The prelims were very excellent also. Figueroa looked impressive so did Ed Herman, I thought he deserved sub of the night, either him or Cole Miller w/ the one arm guillotine. Hettes vs Bruce leroy was very entertaining. Hamman made CB look silly, kinda like Bendo did to Miller, which no one has done till now. Cowboy looked like I've never seen him, which says a lot for all the wars he had in the WEC but always looked like he was holding back, glad to see him let loose
Sad to see Lytle go but man, he went out in style, great fight. glad the UFC won't release Hardy, he's a good fighter but has faced nothing but the very best and he's not quite there yet Overall, as a huge WEC fan, I was trilled seeing two of their biggest stars destroy 2 top 10 UFC guys so know all the talk about them being all hype can stop. Now Pettis needs to KO Stevenson! I was surprised to hear Clay Guidance say a fight with Bendo doesn't interest him much, that fight makes a lot of sense |

I think this will be good for us as a lot of us have Foxtel (or an equivalent) aka Pay-tv which broadcasts most of the FOX channels. It will definitely reach a wider audience. I heard something about the new reality show being broadcasted on Fuel TV as well which we have on Foxtel. I was blown away when I went to UFC 110 in Sydney last year because I had no idea there was so many fans and that it would sell out so quickly. That being said, there are still a lot of misinformed or clueless people out there that have no idea what UFC is or think it's nothing more than barbaric cage fighting. This will definitely give it good exposure as it's been given the tick of approval as a mainstream sport. I am hoping to see a lot more MMA on my Foxtel subscription once this comes in full force! |

What was the announcement? I checked the site and didn't see anything "special" or out of the ordinary

and what I think is the best change, TUF will be live from now one, the fights that is. You will be pre-tapped footage from the previous week (like all the house BS) but all fights will be live. Think this is a nice change for a show that was getting worse and worse |

Exciting stuff going on! The tv deal, all that - should be really good!
I'm looking forward to UFC Rio! I watched the last event w/ the volume off - Did Henderson remember to thank Jesus for Dominating Jim Miller? Holy crap - I did NOT expect Miller to get dominated like that. Either Ben got a LOT better since he fought Pettis or Guida is a LOT better than he has ever shown us. |
