Watched several movies this weekend. Joker, once upon a time in Hollywood, ready or not, and ad astra. Really liked once up a time just bit slow but cracked me up. Ad astra and joker were sokod but ready or it sucked. Oh and the lighthouse was dumb also.

We saw Joker and Downton Abbey over the weekend.
I'm not sure what the fuss was over Joker. I thought it was very mediocre. My wife completely hated it. Downton Abbey was a relaxing watch. |

We don’t go to the theater anymore but do make exceptions. Yesterday we went to see 1917. It was quite good but not great and one of those better seen on the big screen and it was a theater with cushy recliners, Dolby sound and picture which definitely enhances a film like this. I could see this easily winning the Oscar for cinematography at least.

Joker is next on the list to watch. Even more curious about the film now that it’s nominated for like, what, 10 Oscars?

Jumanji the next level was funny. One of the few remakes that beats the original.

Not a movie - but the Boys on Amazon is one of the best shows I've seen in a while.

Watch Bad Boys For Life tonight. Pretty enjoyable. The driving scene with the 911 4S was awesome.
Saw Ip Man 4 last week and it was good too. I liked it. Overall I have enjoyed the Ip Man series. |

My wife and I got suckered into watching "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" last night; Oscar contender, amazing direction from Tarantino, etc.
WTF, over? Both of us pretty much agreed-- it sucked-- choppy scene cuts, a lot of "Why did they do that" cuts (Sharon Tate and her dirty feet in the movie theater come to mind), pretty much no plot, a fair bit of scene chewing. Honestly? The best thing was looking at all of the old classic cars that the sets were dressed with. It's really just a pandering love note from Hollywood to Hollywood. We were *really* disappointed. |
