Kimi's won the drivers title with Fezza, Alonso hasn't. I'd expect more support for Kimi anyway. Of course they're Italian, so that won't be the way it happens.

But the first thing is Ferrari not to trip over their own feet.
The technical and development for the car has been very poor for the last few years.

I removed my post to amend it slightly but you were too fast.
I was going to add that his cars have won championships, however during his Red Bull tenure, he would have zero championships without Vettel. His designs were certainly dominant in the 90s but they were also in the hands of world class driving talent (Mansell, Prost, Hill, et al). So unless you also want to poo-poo the talents of those other drivers, the Vettel critics are being incredibly hypocritical.

To counter the last few posts, yes Newey's designs are successful in conjunction with talented drivers however it could be argued that the technology that goes into making a car competitive has a greater influence than it may have had before.

Sure, but Newey an aerodynamicist. People are attributing the team success solely to Newey, however Newey's role is to make the car slick through the air. In that respect, Webber and Vettel have the same input from the man. I'm not saying that technology hasn't played a role, but I'm not sure that it's really Newey who is coming up with said technology.

Are we forgetting there are about 600 people on the payroll? It's more than AD.

Yea, that's a great answer. I personally like Vettel because he came from BMW (weak reason, I understand), but I certainly hope it's much closer between the top 3 teams.
While he may not be like Alonso, you can't help but respect the perfectionist that Vettel is.

Andretti is your trusted source of F1 knowledge? Listening to him during the race broadcast he participated in made me realize that he officially knows nothing about the sport in its modern form.

So, if Vettel won his championships with Newey designed chassis. He's not a worthy champion?
How about Prost, Mansell, Hill, Villeneuve, Hakkinen? They've all won with Newey's car back in 90's. Like I said in many other posts, he is part of the RBR success, perhaps in quite significant percentage. But I don't get why we need to dis-credit Vettel's effort? He managed to get the most out of the car. Yes he drove away into the sunset and have several comfortable wins. Don't forget the effort contributed by the 600+ people from Milton Keyes, and impeccable team effort with error-free pitstops, and a working strategy. Even with the randomness of Pirelli tires, RBR and Vettel still managed to win three consecutive champions. Again, not a Vettel or RBR fan. But I don't think they got the credit they've deserved. Funny thing said by Horner a few weeks ago. Several years ago people think RBR is just a partying team and not being serious. Now they got serious and starts winning, they're being criticized again. Well, its hard to please everyone.

Gary only wishes he knew what Adrian & Co are up to. It's all speculation, and the key point is that even IF any of this conjecture were true, other teams would have to base their ENTIRE car around it - from scratch... So it wouldn't work for them.
