The other day I was at Audi looking at the S8, so I went and sat in the whole line while I was there, and after returning to my 330xi I realized how good a job BMW did in making the cabin feel really quite spacious (ok maybe with the exception of legroom for the back seat). I think the door panel trim having a scooped out design really helps in that regard.

I did a test drive on the new C-class C220 diesel recently. There are many things that I like about the new c-class but there a few things that I can't really live with as is.
Likes: - Exterior design is really nice and cohesive. Muscular and sporty. I like this better than the e90 design. - Uses regular tires and have a full size spare in the boot. - Better seats; more comfortable than e90. - Better ride on the road, especially over rough or broken roads. - Dashboard is quite nice but not as easy to read as e90. Dislikes: - Standard steering wheel is massive. Like driving a truck. It is so light to steer that you don't get enough feedback/ pushback. - Certain conveniences are missing is some models. Like fully auto seat, memory for seats. - Foot pedal brakes? Come on...time to get rid of this junk. - Engine performance is weak. So overall, I will only consider changing to the c-class when they have revised it to fix some of these dislikes. |

I think the C-class looks pretty good - the sport version. I would have tested it if it was out before I got my car, but then again I think I tested just about everything. I'm not sure I like the interior. I'm used to the idea of less buttons now with idrive. I did a build on a C350 sport and it came out to be a little less than my car with the same options.

Very true. It wasn't so long ago that anything under 6 seconds was very fast. The acceleration levels of modern cars is hitting ridiculous levels.

I don't know....I saw the C class at the NY AUto Show and I thought it looked very boring and Chrysler-like. The sport version was a little better - but it still had that big sedan look to it. If you need the space, then maybe - otherwise, the styling, size, and performance is not for me.

I am a current E46 330Ci owner. I chose the C350 Sport over a 335 E92 here is why. In NYC with the roads and traffic we have u cant really push a E92 to its max potential. I was looking to stay in the same performance range as my current E46. The C350 Sport does that. If the E46 coupe was still in production i would have gotten it i am not a fan of the E92 body style. I think styling wise the C350 is much nicer then the E90-E92. SO for $41,500 fully loaded i stayed in the same price and performance range as my old E46 if i would have bought the E92 335i with the same options as my C350 i would have to pay about $8k more and yes i would get a car thats 0.9 sec 0-60 faster but for me 5.7 to 60 is fast enough.

Wait it's only 41,500 fully loaded? I thought it had a base price that was almost the same to the 335 sedan. Then the C350 is a really good deal if u don't want the extra performance.

C350 Sport with P2 Mettalic Paint and and Navi and HK sound and 18 inch Rims MSRP is $43,285 i got 1800 off msrp. The only options i did not take were Pano roof and Full leather pkg. The MB tex is Leather Seat cushions and the rest is psudo leather. MBtex wears alot better the real leather. I went to a few dealers in my area and could not get more then 1k off the E92. and with those same options E92 335i is close to 50k MSRP.

Merc has priced the new C really aggressively....I mean, look what its up against with the 335. Not to mention Lexus, Acura, Infiniti.....etc.
I sat in the new C and wasn't that impressed with the interior space, although they say its larger than the previous model. I felt like my E90 was more spacious. Also, BMW made the right move with the 1 Series because that car will be priced lower and have a good shot at grabbing any cost-conscientious buyers 'on the fence', that would give up the extra interior room for a sportier ride. |

The new C-klasse drives very well, has great braking, and is very inexpensive. I also love the navigation interface with the pop-up screen. I was impressed with the C-klasse much more than I thought I would be. But I think its a better competitor with the Passat or TL than the 3-series.

- Give the car to your mom = $0
- Get the 335i = $50,000 - The satisfaction of having a BMW over a Mercedes Benz = priceless. I test drove the MB C class and its build quality is terrible. it does not feel anywhere near the build quality of the E92. and the power.....the power.....ahhh yes, pure bliss.
