Well, a lot of the people on the board are BMW owners including myself... I think they are gorgeous cars but many people are quick to dismiss a cars quality (i.e. status) because of the brand behind it. |

+1, I am going to with this... in addition Hyundai has not taken the time to build the proper brand image for a luxury car (much less one that costs over $60K). Simply put; if you have 60K sitting around; is your first choice really going to be the Hyundai when you have Audis/BMWs/Mercedes to choose from? The answer almost universally is absolutely not and with good reason.

Already living that scenario and already bought our 'ideal' car... 2012 S4
Except for #4 (we have a truck for hauling large items) that scenario fits us exactly. Commute 35 miles each way everyday, including dropping off and picking up toddler. Wanted German ride quality (tried Subaru again... couldn't do it) and we wouldn't give BMW another dime. 'Need' awd for the Northwet and those few icy/snowy days commuting. SUV's like the Q7 are nice but wanted the sporty drive. So we bought a 4 door, AWD, German quality, kickass sedan. It's a blast and fits most of our practical needs as well. |

I'm sure you could buy an S4 with extended warranty, and still be WELL within your budget.
As for reliability, well...it's a relatively new car. And any German car will have its issues after 50-100k miles. I'm just trying to be helpful. If you want something bulletproof, then look no further than Toyota. I'm sure you can find a Toyota camry that will easily do 400-500k miles without a hitch. |
