You may be a bit high on the 25 part. I think it may be closer to 18 or 19.

Turbo and OT sections; lower the age bracket to 12-15 it would seem.

Keep in mind that the SHO IS NOT supposed to be a high volume car. It's just an upper trim level of a volume seller, and the R&D cost is minimul. It doesn't need huge numbers to be profitable.

This is kinda my point. Dont you think domestic manufactures should be more focused on volume these days as opposed to showpieces?

Is price all you consider when it comes to vehicles competing against what?

The Taurus SHO does not compete with the 335i, A4, etc. It competes against Charger SRT-8 which hello, also starts at $40K.

Everyone needs to stop thinking because a mainstream car can reach $40K in its price, means it goes against your precious BMW.
Charger...different demographic.

Ford themselves compared it against the BMW 5 series.

How many other V8 RWD mainstream cars are there? Ford's whole point with the V8 vs EcoBoost standoff is that they are getting V8 performance for V6 fuel economy. Ford is forced to go against the luxo brands due to the lack of mainstream RWD full size sedans. There is only the 300/Charger( Genesis sedan is marketed towards luxury buyers).

They are...the Taurus is a high volume offering. The SHO isn't costing them a lot of money to produce. It's just an engine option (that's is/will be available in a lot of different models) and a trim package. What they're doing is looking to add some sales to an existing high volume car.

It makes perfect sense. You've got the chassis, and you've got a higher performance engine that will work with it, why not combine them and snag a few more sales?

Do NOT under-estimate this car. It is a true sleeper. I have surprised several 335i's with this car.

It is no M3 when it comes to the twisties but it is a far more comfortable daily driver and the explosive power is always on tap.

Initially I was looking at the 535xi and A6 and test drove the Ford on a lark. Glad I did.

The Ford Sync system is far ahead of the BMW and Audi offerings and massaging seats (LUMBAR AND THIGH) and programmable Mykey features aren't EVEN on the menu.

On the Highway I averaged 27.5MPG on regular gas which is excellent for such a heavy car. BTW it handles like a much smaller car in 99% of the driving I do.

For the spirited stuff I prefer the track or a German autobahn anyways.

Ford is on the right track here.

hopefully it has a lot of tuning potential as that will bring in extra sales. if it is a good tuner engine i would just try and swap it into a sportier car. im all for ford but i dont see any cosmetic mods making this look badass lol

Look up ad homenium, then try to formulate a thoughtful post. Try to be specific as to which point(s) you disagree with.

And I think those numbers are a bit optimistic, because that car has lost in performance tests to a G37 sedan...

Notice the 5.8 0-60 that Edmunds got...

What don't you understand about "full-size" and why would you compare it to a G37?

Can you tune it to look better? That's what it really needs.

Its actually not that bad looking, that rear end is boo but the fronts not bad, not great but should be perfect for middle aged conservative family guy with a bunch of rugrats to haul around but wants the AWD and some power to boot.

Im not saying its a bad car. it seems to be a great overall car. just not something i would drive at this point in my life. For a family man on a budget it will be hard to beat

I think Ford has done a great job with this car. It has the euro-Ford styling that should have been coming over here all along, as well as serious performance for the money. It is no 335i but its not trying to be. This car could eat a 335i; its that big. If you have a family and have grown beyond saying things such as "chit" this car makes alot of sense. You have plenty of space, leading edge technology, and enough performance to keep anyone entertained. Whats wrong with that?

It's not German. And anything not German here is automatically a POS.

I get 10-1 more comments on our black SHO than my 135i coupe. Any idea why?

That depends on what the comments are. Do you have a lot of people threatening you?

Seriously, it's a big 4-door sedan so it's rather hard to miss. I also think that more people would be interested in a new sedan rather than a coupe as they are more likely to consider one for themselves. The 1 is also much more subdued and generally not screaming for attention.
