Garage List
My list of ownership is a bit of a cheat because I've only had 1 car in my name so far. If I'm being honest I haven't funded any of my cars (yet), so I'm grateful that I even had a car almost constantly after I got my license. In order:

-2013 Renault Fluence 1.5dci EDC: First car after I got my license. It was in the company fleet so I was very, very sad to see it go. Pretty a-ok car for what it was, definitely want to buy one once I can import it to the States for the good old times. From carrying 13 people in the car with 2 in the trunk, almost dying because of understeer to becoming a man, lots of memories in that car. Still have the plate on my wall in America.

- 2011 Nissan Qashqai 2.0dci: My mom's old car. Since her car is leased for the company too, once we returned the Fluence there was one "opening" so she got an Insignia (Buick Regal over here) and I got the Nissan. You guys have it here as a Rogue; there isn't much special about this car other than being extremely easy to drive. The glass roof is what got me addicted to them, I can't imagine not having a car that doesn't get natural light anymore. Still have this car but it's staying in Istanbul now. Excuse the dirt on the Nissan, it rarely gets driven someone just starts it every now and then so the battery doesn't die.

- 2016 BMW 525d xDrive: My dad's "old" car. Leased this for himself through the company, ended up buying it after he leased a G30 for himself early 2019. Only two licenses in my home now (brother's turning 18 in a year and a half), so we took the Nissan to Istanbul. The G30 is my dad's daily now, mom still has the Insignia, we bought the F10 as we thought of selling the Nissan but the amount of money we'd get from it is considerably small so we decided to keep that until it dies. Plan was to have the F10 as the only AWD car since winters can get rough out there.

- 2010 Lincoln MKS: My lovely shitbox. I fell in love with this car when I first saw it, I still really really like it. It's almost irrational at this point but I don't see this car going away unless I'm forced to. There's a few things wrong with it, and I made hella mistakes buying it. Never buying a used car from a dealer again. It's also the car I did any sort of maintenance work on even if it's simple stuff like oil/filter changes and brake pads. Second owner, I've only put on about 20% of its mileage, met the old owner, and have the window sticker (that I said I'd frame). Recently celebrated it's 2nd anniversary with me, too.

For the future? We'll see how stuff unfolds. If I can be employed in the States plan is to get a BMW of some sort. Depending how stuff plays out I'd get a M2C and keep my MKS with it, but if I have to go single car I'd go with an M340i. Drove one for 3ish weeks this summer, what a beast.

The list of cars I've driven is considerably longer than this though, I'll dig it up on my laptop and post it here.

This car was so bad, I wanted the Subaru back.

The cars have gotten much better after that.

Sooooooooo many. I've bought and traded 3 new BMWs just last year
X1 to 430i to 440i

in 2018 I traded a new Tahoe in for new Silverado in the same year.

in 2016 I bought a new Corvette C7 and only had that for 6 months.

Which is why I'm so poor now!

@pennsiveguy it is definitely a step up. I never liked the interior of BMW's prior to the 2019 redesign. I felt BMW interiors were stagnate for years. The first Ford Explorer Sport I owned was a great car with the twin turbo. They did a good job in the redesign as that was the first year for the sport. The 2nd one even though it was a sport just didn't have the same umph but Ford's technology for the price won me over.

I do love the X5 and if BMW stays innovative with their designs I can see myself continuing to drive them. The horsepower and overall look is just enjoyable and it's a fun vehicle to drive. I'm very picky in what I like & not going to drive a grocery getter with no ass lol.

Started with a 2002 Celica GTS. Might be where my love of foreign/high revving cars came from. Totaled going to fast around a turn.

Then went to a E36 M3 while in highschool/college.

E46 M3 in med school.

After a few months in residency and saving up i sold the M3 and got a GTR. Also got a beat up hail dented salvaged corolla to daily.

Done with residency and got an outpatient clinic job. got rid of the corolla. missed having a manual so much i got an FRS. One test drive and i was sold.

Test drove a viper (5th gen) and was blown away how awesome it was. Thought about it but i wanted to trade up at this point and not make a lateral move in the car world. Went to vegas for a medical conference. booked some track time with a 458 and GT3 while down there. The 458 was down when i got there, so they gave me a huracan instead. After driving those i felt like i had to dump the GTR for a real sports car

I love the GT3, but during this time only the 991.1 was out. And they didn't offer a manual. So I thought well, if i gotta be stuck with DCT, why not go all out? The 458 was reliable and had already taken nearly 30% of its depreciation at this point. so thats what i went with. I figured i'd only lose about 10k a year in depreciation. Mclarens were having problems and depreciating HARD.

The FRS was wearing on me with a primarily highway commute. It wasn't the right tool for the job. Traded in for an F30 335 after 9 months.

335 was so boring when you turned traction off and tried to push it. No diff to hold a slide, ran out of breath up top. The ZF8 was slow to respond to inputs.

Figured i'd rather take a cheap beater to work from here on out. My buddy had a similar formula. old camry for work, S4 for around town, and weekend racer was a built Rx7.

Bought a 6000 dollar civic. 55k miles and its now at 90k without any issues. Sold the 335i and bought a F80 6 speed.

Damn how the heck were you funding an M car in medical school? I'm about to start at an osteopathic school in the fall and thinking about dumping my 1 series for some extra cash - text books 'ain't' cheap.

I just picked up an 08 Camry from my neighbor who needed the money due to losing his job, so I might just use this for school and get rid of the Beamer. Thing only has like 86k on it and seems to run good. Paid $2,200 for it.

Fortunate to have parents who are funding school, but I'm on my own with the German cars.

Guess I should add it to my list even though it's not technically mine yet. I loathe the DMV so have been putting it off.

Do exactly as you said and sell the 1 series unless you are really attached to it. Save the Camry for school, and worry about "amassing" your car collection later!

Seriously though, no sense in coming out of school with any debt if your parents are funding that part of it.

It's the same thing we did with my daughter. Save now...play later!!

Some impressive auto-biographies in this thread. I made this collage a few years ago, dating back to the blue 1957 MGA coupe, purchased in 1965 for $600. Some photos are the actual vehicle, some look-alikes, every one of them freighted with memories, of course. The only car not included is the current M3.

Cars i have owned

Hello everyone, I am so excited to be a member of E90post. I have owned two BMW's. My first was a 2000 BMW X5, with Dinan exhaust (absolute beast). I replaced upper timing cover gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and much more. Then I got the vehicle I currently have a E90 coupe. I currently live in the Myrtle Beach area, and enjoy driving the back roads and curves. Great place to drive your BMW! If you may be interested in the Myrtle Beach area, be sure to view

after driving the viper and huracan it felt like an SUV. My GTR was FBO E85 as well... around 600+awhp. A VERY fast SUV but yeah the steering, handling, sound, throttle response, was not on the level of those cars. seating position is too high as well. So much acceleration you basically had to just floor it, brake early (the brakes are really good), gently tip toe around a corner, wait until it was straight then mash the throttle again to the next corner. It doesn't really flow corner to corner.

2008 BMW 328 xi coupe
2010 Ford Escape
2010 Honda Element.... yes I love Elements.. I’m a snowboarder and it’s the best vehicle for traveling.
2011 BMW E90 328i X
2018 Mazda CX-5 GT with GT premium package.

Just about all of these cars had manual transmissions..

A lot of cars for the 32 years that I’ve been driving.
I’m known by a couple friends for having as many girlfriends in my life as cars.
