u should take your 328i to the circuit track against his civic si STOCK FOR STOCK...
depending on the track, if its a low speed with many turns, you would be suprised at where you stand... I've had my 335i for 2 months now and its seen 3 track days. My previous car was an Rsx-s pushing out about 220~WHP N/A not TURBOd (stock is only 179). On the track that thing felt damn fast and was fucking fast, i bet it could hold up to my 335i now. I have 2 buddies that have boosted their RSX-S pushing ~320whp and ~280whp. You should see how damn fast they are at the track up against euros and cars that cost 3-4x more. Having said that, if you are all about drag on the streets or 1/4, a 5.0 Mustang will eat your 328i alive easily...whereas on the track, we have this STOCK MOTOR civic cx (~130whp?) 1993 with just transmission work that pulls on boosted 400hp STI... I dont get what is there to brag about beating an Si... I also have an 08 Si which I think I can eat your 328i easily on the track with the stock LSD, you are comparing a 2.0 litre 4banger n/a car versus your 3.0 Litre inline 6, no shit u will have more top end especially for roll racing not from a dig... i've sold my rsx-s for 335i, my dad got a civic si as an extra car for the house, so i drive both cars and love both japanese and german cars..i just see no achievement or bragging rights in this thread when comparing apples to oranges...

yah truth be told a good track car isnt one with huge horsepower. if the miata came with the Si motor that would be awesome. until then, ill stick to my dreams of an elise.
as for daily? cars like the 3series coupe are nice GTs that can do ok at the track. but really i use it as a p-magnet. altho maybe....maybe...the miata is also a p-magnet. hmmm...or an elise...damnit... |
