155 in an F80 M3, car felt like it was on rails... honestly, i think it would have felt fine at 200.
155 in a Z8, super slow car by modern standards but this was in 2001, so it felt like a rocket ship 155 in a 335i... felt decent, over 140 felt somewhat sketchy... would not advise above this. 130 in a 135i... the 1 series is imho one of the least stable, least planted BMWs ever built, imho anything over 120 in this car is asking for serious trouble... this is even with serious suspension / tire mods. |

My top three rides that I owned for speed:
1- 2004 GTO (mostly stock) I hit an indicated 175 MPH or so, GPS indicated 163 MPH. Very smooth, best high speed ride I have experienced. 2- 2005 GSX-R 1000 (R.I.P. Modded, 154 whp, I have the dyno sheet and video) 190 MPH indicated (on more than one occasion), GPS indicated 174 MPH. This bike had full Ohlins suspension/custom, set up perfectly for my weight so it was pretty smooth, but 174 on a bike is SCARY AS FUCK. MotoGP guys or anyone who races motorcycles on a high speed track has giant balls of stainless steel. 3- E90 335i N54, speedo needle pegged to the max, GPS indicated 173 MPH. Car had A LOT left. This was after the front anti roll bar, rear sub frame bushings, Koni yellows. It was smoother than I expected. Felt better than it did at 120 MPH prior to suspension mods. Speed kills......time.

Been there, done that. The bad guy usually crashes, they don't seem to get that we don't have to pass them just follow them. It's not a race. I did like the the Crown Vic Police Interceptor. Have had a few high speed runs in them, 120MPH+(200+KPH). The roof lights tend to slow them down a bit. Had a clean top above 220KPH on the 400.

285 kph(GPS) for me...
Back when my car was totally stock on the Autobahn...
Even though the speedo says 250 kph(155 mph) the actual speed was "only" 240 kph(148 mph) as verified with my GPS. Since then I went with a German flash tune, 1bar of boost: 380 PS and 520Nm of tq. The tune also has an "open" V-Max. Fastest I have seen is 285 kph verified on my GPS @6,400 rpms in 6th gear. I know I've gone faster a few time to 6,600 rpms... but It was too fast to take a pic and I had no GPS with me on those times. I've heard that a tuned 135i can reach 297 kph given a long enough(and empty) Autobahn. That is just too fast & sketchy for me to try. I've also heard that a "tuned" e92 335i with FBO's can do 314 kph. I believe both figures. Also... with all late model BMW's... IF you do not have M-sport option(either ZMP or ZSP which both include option #840 speed synchronization, for more info click here... http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...67&postcount=2) ...your "standard" car is limited to 210 kph. IF you have M-Sport... your car will be limited to 250 kph. IF you have an e9x M3 you are limited to 268 kph, unless you have the "driver's package from an M Driving School. Any BMW dealer can download the code to your car and it raises the limiter to 280 kph. All the above speeds are REAL GPS V-Max speeds, not what shows on your speedo. The speedo reads about 4 to 5% more than true vehicle speed. Dackel

you guys are wild... i had so many mods on my 135i including michelin PSS, koni yellows, m3 bushings, megan toe arms... and a very solid alignment... and the car felt very sketchy anywhere over 120-130... my 335i was a totally different discussion though.

Had the ///M up to around 175 a few times on the Autobahn. Things happen way too fast at that speed.

Ohh and to your comment about your 335 having a lot left, i hit 186 with stock turbos and it still felt like it had more. My RB's pushed me to 196mph (GPS) before i let off and it was still pulling |

144. BMW 128i. It was fun doing that in Greece this year. Car is definitely meant for speeds less than 160mph.
