Another wind/fire warning coming this Tuesday. Winds gusting up to 100 in some of the mountain passes, 40-50 in da hood. Humidity dropping into single digits.
Exactly 2 months after the last big fire from winds, and they are scheduled to have a meeting for victims of the fire Tuesday night.

Our peak gusts here were over 25 MPH again today, and they just put up a wind advisory for Thursday forecasting even higher winds for tomorrow.
Thankfully the winds have died down enough where the California firefighters can operate their aerial helicopter and airplane water bombers tonight.....

The winds are still howling here in the northeast today. My anemometer clocked a 27 MPH wind gust, which is rare because our property is in a terrain bowl. I heard something banging on the roof a few hours ago, and am afraid to go outside to look since we just had it replaced last summer.
On the plus side for the west coast, I saw that the Santa Ana winds subsided enough where the helicopters are able to water-bomb the fires again.....

Winds were brisk just before dawn (when Watch Duty alerted me of a flare up in fires) but seem calm now. Santa Anas set to blow the embers around some more this weekend, just not hurricane force like earlier.

Had to clear another 4" or so today. Light stuff and no wind, so the snow thrower worked well.

Speaking of back, I just added bent over row with weights to my exercises to help strengthen my back. Have to be careful though.
Back on topic, a beautiful sunny day at 68°F with a high of 69 forecasted. No wind in sight (for now). |
