silvergray545 I signed up for my first HPDE this Sunday.

And then I got waitlisted. Not sure I'm disappointed or relieved. Haha.

What do you got for brake pads? Also you if you have Michelins, you could destroy them.

Where at? It's pretty typical to get waitlisted in the novice groups. When I was in the novice group, we had to sign up 4-6 weeks early just to guarantee a spot. It really sucks but instructors are in such high demand.

You should be disappointed! Good thing it's early enough in the year to schedule another one.

She'll be fine. It's her first event so there will be lots of learning involved. It's the future events that will start taking a toll on the factory brakes and MPSS. I agree though. MPSS are garbage for anything other than street use.

The PSS's dont fair well, you might want to look into tires like the RE-71R's. they cost a lil less but they can survive a HPDE. I'd recommend some track brake pads also.

There are only four people waitlisted so maybe I'll get in. It's at NJMP.

NJMP looks fun. Would definitely like to make it out there eventually. But if I'm going east, Watkins Glen is my first stop!

If you do get in, let us know how it goes!

I just dont wanna see her go home with chunks of the tread comin off her MPSS, it doesn't take much to ruin those tires..

She can get by with the stock pads i guess.

I agree! I learned the hard way. Didn't really have anyone that pointed me in the right direction.

Problem is, it's such a large investment. Especially if you don't plan on doing it consistently. But when people get their first event under their belt, they'll know if they are going back or not. The track bug bites harder than any other. Haha
