Finished plowing and shoveling about two hours ago. Not the 8 to 10 inches the local weather service predicted, more like 6 inches, shocked they played the "end of humanity card" as usual.

Still snowing here, we have had over a foot thankfully it's not a heavy wet snow. Seems to be tapering off a bit now but expected to snow till 7pm.

Barely an inch over the weekend here.
Inadvertently created a squirrel highway by putting out a humane mouse trap around the corner by my car. They were so determined to get the peanut butter, they flipped over the box but still couldn't get in. No mice though. We're expecting 6-8 inches on Tuesday though. |

35 when I woke up this morning. Dog wouldn't even go outside, although I certainly did. That crescent moon and (Saturn?) near the cup were beautifully clear!
Couldn't see any frost on house roofs, but any flat horizontal surface on cars left on the street were glistening. Sunny, 60 at noon.

Winter storm warning here in the northwest suburbs. 5-8 inches expected. Possibly more.

The forecast is for wintery conditions to arrive: heavy rain and plenty of wind (power outages? ) followed by 4-8 inches of snow at our elevation. It appears to be nearing time to pay the piper.

*Lots* of rain and wind all night and more to come today. Possibly some light snow accumulation later as the backside of the storm passes through. It's the next storm coming on Friday that looks to be a PITA. Then bitter cold for a few days.

First snowstorm of the winter and it's raining. We did get around 2" of snow earlier in the morning but now this rain will likely wash it all out. They were calling for 6-8" snow at one point but it looks like the temperature changed enough to make it rain.
Perfectly normal January weather... |

It was a balmy 14F when I took the dog for a walk this morning. There was no wind this morning, so it was actually quite a bit warmer than it was at 19F yesterday!

Garbage pick-up cancelled for tomorrow. Schools will probably be closed. We cancelled all appointments and told the staff to stay home. The main roads will be plowed first but the side roads might be treacherous to navigate for a day or two.

About 5" in the last 5 hours. Now its changing to ice pellets and more than likely rain in the morning.

Got 6~ inches of wet heavy snow. Nobody plowed the dealership lot. Thought I was gonna get stuck. But, the good ol' beater was able to take me home safely.
Another winter storm is on the way from Friday 3 am to Saturday 3 pm. Getting another 8-12 inches.....

The West Edmonton Mall (among North America's very largest) has block heater electrical hookups in its parking lots.

Your forecast reminds me of living up in the Big A in the Panhandle in the 70s and driving up to see my dad in Boulder, CO after work on a Friday and then coming back Sunday afternoon.
The return trips in the winter almost always required placing a newspaper in front of the radiator. Coming back from Boulder one time when it was really cold, I put a full-thickness Sunday Denver Post in front of the radiator. The paper was crazy-thick, but at least it got the water temperature gauge to come off the stop and keep me from freezing to death.
