I dont think it would be a problem for me. Traditional gender roles are really becoming obsolete and a relic of the past. There are many, many women in the workforce these days making more than their peers where this would have been possible less than a decade ago. How many female CEOs do we have now? You have Xerox, Pepsi, Yahoo, IBM, GD, Lockheed-Martin even Schnitzer Steel with female CEOs and executives and most of these companies have been traditionally male oriented. Hell, Mary Barra (sp?) is now the CEO of General Motors.
My point is that now this is a fact of our worklives and, in no way, should you feel emasculated or be ashamed of your wife and yourself making less. I'm quite sure you are, but you should be proud of her if anything for her achievements. Plus, it never hurts to have some extra money coming in |

even if my wife made more money than me, in my household, we know our roles....
she's still gonna have her ass in the kitchen making food, washing dishes and washing clothes..... I'm still gonna take care of the trash, take care of the cars, be the iron fist with the kids, open salsa jars, pay all the bills and sit my ass on the couch when I freaking want to without any pushback from the lady... she knows that's how it is, just as I know how it is... that's how we were both raised - it's all about understanding which roles you have in the marriage..... #lovebeingmexican |

lol ^
I'd love if my future wife was making near/more than me. Save up lots of cash then let her stay at home when having kids.

as if you saying "I have a Mexican friend" will cement anything you subsequently say about this topic
one single Mexican friend in boring ass Seattle is going to sway you to think a certain way !?!? that's sad..... I live in a 400 mile radius that is predominantly Mexican.... there are close to 3 million Mexicans living around me and I live 5 hours from the Mexican border... the Mexican Culture in Texas is much different than the Mexican Culture in Seattle, trust me..... lol @ your Mexican friend - you only have one !?!? sounds about par with your area... |

Call me old fashion but I prefer to be the provider, something about taking care of my woman! Plus I don’t want to be dependent on having to stay with someone because I’m comfortable with the lifestyle.

My wife used to make more than I did when we were dating and it bothered me a lot.
I was 2 years out working and it was her first job that got paid more by little. It bugged the hell out of me and I started to hop firms to get more raise. Money meant quite a lot to me back then because I had a student debt that she didn't have and I felt like a loser making less money. I know money isn't everything but it certainly was one of the thing I wanted to comfortably share with her. Now I'm on my own and make almost triple and we both feel much better. |
