Most colleges do a decent job at snow removal on their own properties but you may have to worry about the city the college is in. Have you visited the school in person yet? If so, did you notice if any red poles sticking up 3-4 ft. that were attached to fire hydrants? If you did then that is a sign of a area that gets massive amounts of snow. So much that the poles are there so the fireman can find the hydrants in the winter. If no poles, then they'll prolly get an average amount of snow, check weather.com for the cities average then go from there.

At a $600 a month payment you can get a lot of things. I dunno about a 335xi unless your parents put a decent amount of money down to lower the payment. Personally I'd go for a X3, e90/e91 328xi, VW Toureg or the new VW Tiguan(I dunno when the official release date is?). Or if you really wanna have some fun then look no further then a STi or the new Evo. Both have proven AWD systems and kick ass in the snow. Can you say power donuts?

Ive visited 2 times, once was spring once was fall so no poles up (that I saw), will check weather.com to see averages but I know for a fact I do not like the x3, had it as a loaner and eh. Maybe a Toureg but right now im looking at FX45, not sure what the monthly payments are but well see.

I like that truck. It really is very very fast and handles well for a truck. Just as fast or faster then a 335i and for 42k you cant beat it for the money. It also looks very very hot with the 20's on it.

If I was in college and your age the EVO would be my number 1 car. Either that or an STI. Your in florida right so why do you need snow tires? If your going to school where it snows the evo an sti with snow tires are a blast to drive. If I did not work at BMW I would be driving either an EVO or STI right now.

Why not? You don't know how to shift and play at the same time?

The Infiniti FX45 will be well > $600/mo., unless you put a lot of $$ down (cap cost reduction) or have a completely base model. Also, the FX45 is not AWD; it's RWD, based on the 350Z/G35 platform, unless they have an AWD option now. You may want to consider the FX35 instead...even that has a lot of power with the VQ 6-cyl. 300HP engine.

Interesting; I drove a loaded '03 FX35 (Prem, Sport, and Tech packages) that that was RWD; I guess the FX45 is different and is AWD. Anyway, my FX35 had an MSRP for $46k if I remember (and it was on a 39-mo./15k mi./yr. lease for $612/mo., and I got a great deal too). The FX45 was at least $8k more as I recall. So, even if it's not loaded, a well equipped FX45 will be at least $48-$50k and will most likely lease well over $600/mo. But G/L to the OP; either way, getting a good education is much more important than a nice car right now.

They say the Jeep GC SRT-8 does handle very well; I think it actually pulls 0.89g on the skidpad...just like the 335i. However, did you look at the MPG ratings??? Now, subtract 3mpg from their ratings, and that's what you'll get...about 11mpg in the city and 15mpg on the hwy. It will be a bit of a shock coming from your 30mpg 325i.
