Erm, I don't have either but from mag numbers that seems odd. CS runs 4.3 and 12.8, Z4 M runs 4.9 and 13.5.

I drove both, I thought the Caymen S was more tame, more agile, and didnt "feel" as fast. The ///M is more agressive. If money is a concern the Z4M lease is going to blow away a Caymen S. My lease is $550 a month.. a Boxster is going to be north of 850+. I would drive both and see what you like more.

Cayman S runs a 4.3 0-60 and 12.8 quarter mile?! That's way, way faster than I thought they were.

Porsche claims a 0-60 of 5.1 for the CS. It's not a 4.3sec car. It is, however, an all around better package than the Z4M in my opinion. I thought the CS was just a fantastic car to drive...period. I just didn't like the $1100/mo lease pmt.

You've gotta be kidding me The cayman S runs a 5.1 0-60. Check porsche.com. You really think they'd make the cayman faster than a 911? Moron.

Cayman S > Boxster S > Z4M >>> Cayman > Z > Boxster.
I was a "hater" of boxsters until I actually drove one. They're fantastic automobiles. There's nothing substandard about them to the 911. The things a Boxster S would do to a 911 C2 Cab... no contest. And the same with a Cayman S and a C2 Coupe. Without the S, it would be grossly underpowered though.

A CS is a Carrera S, not a Cayman S. Moron.

As for the price thing: there are off-lease Cayman and Boxster Ss out there for under $50k already, low miles and still under warranty. Inifiniti Gold Coast has a black/black 2005 Boxster S with nav for $42k asking, and Luxury Motors (yeah, I know) has a black/black 2006 Cayman S for $48k. He can also find some kick-ass 996s out there (the nicer-looking 2002+ models) with low miles for low-to-mid $40s. Personally, I like the facelifted 996s more than the 997, which hearks back to the 993 but isn't as well-proportioned, and the 996TT looks much better than the 997 version, especially in black. I also like the current Boxster - I picked my Z4 over the old one because it looks tons better, but the new version gives the Z4 a run for its money. I'd still pick a Z4 M Coupe over the Cayman S on aesthetics, but I'd get the Porsche because it's got more legroom. Which is why I know so much about the Chicago Porsche market... |

Don't want to get into this battle, but on the porsche forums, people typically refer to the CS as the cayman s, and a C2S as a Carrera S...guess what the C4S stands for?
I 2nd whoever said to get a 997s if it's in your budget. What a car...
