Im pretty sure the 550 can outrun a 335 on the highway....displacement and 390tq and 380hp. i know my dads Cl550 can outrun one, even if it is heavier. that thing hauls ass once it gets going

Ive raced a few e60 550i when I was 100% stock and im not sure how they would do vs a MB 550 but I inched on it from 40-120/130 on multiple runs.

Go ahead and say what you like about elevation but last time I checked LA itself is damn near sea level. (330 ft, I just checked now ) That's where you'll be using the car and perhaps racing it every day. Trust me, any AMG with half a clue would kick the shit out of a 335 PROcede or not. Modified AMG with their own chips (since comparing a chipped 335 to a non-chipped AMG isn't fair) will walk a 335 all day long. I don't really care which AMG it is either, you'll lose. (Except maybe the SLK)
Aha, found a thread to back me up. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88584

2 things...first your car is out of this world!! its known that your car is def some sort of freak also I know from my experiences that the 550 would def edge out an M3 which is basically on par w/ the 335 performance wise (straight line of course) all conditions differ and its possible but I know the 550 is beast after 80... |

It's fair because the AMGs weight quite a bit more than the 335 since most of them are massive sedans.

Was that the red SL55 at German Invasion? I even beat him once when I raced him in my stock 335i. My best was a 13.46 1/4, and I think his best was maybe 13.3 or something? I bet he has new respect for the 335i. I believe the CLS63 was running just as quick as the SL.

Comparing ANY modded car with a STOCK car is STUPID. I can make a civic faster than a ferrari if I wanted to. Even if a Procede 335i could hang with or even BEAT an AMG car, I'd take an AMG car over a friggen 335i with every mod available any day of the damn week. Lets not get silly here, folks.

Yup, I can buy a modded Evo and wipe the floor with a 335, but that doesn't make it a better car now does it?

Wow, those M3 drivers didn't do all that well. In my stock 6MT PY M3 w/ a passenger, I pulled a 13.7; 13.5 without a passenger respectively....at California Speedway in Fontana, CA. The altitude variance shouldn't alter the results that much from LACR to Cali Speedway, should it? |
