definitely a good fight... Marquez did a good job but couldn't convince the judges he was the better man tonight. GO PACMAN!

No way Vegas was going to let Marquez win in a decision. Too much money on the line for the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight. I still thought Manny won by a slight margin. If you're going to beat the champ, you win decisively.

I wouldn't say jmm got robbed. Neither fighters looked convincing enough to be crowned a winner. If boxing was real this shouldve been another draw. Stats shows jmm was more efficient but pac shows he was the aggressor and both were just seriously back and forth with punches. Great fight imo.
Jmm shouldn't be saying he got robbed ...he didn't look anymore convincing than pacman to be crowned winner |

I agree, draw would have been fair.
The whole promotion of Mayweather v Pacquiao is just creating hype for Vegas to make a lot of more $$$. Boxing has gradually been declining in quality and character. I am rooting for it to make a comeback. |

Great fight no matter what..not much if anything separates these guys. Draw would have been fair but if anything i think Marquez won but i'm not a professional judge so what do i know. Early it was Pacman but i think most of the late rounds were Marquez to me.

a few thoughts...
1. it is very difficult to win if you are going backwards the entire fight without a knock down 2. the volume of manny's punches continues to be impressive 3. JMM is a naturally bigger fight...he should be able to catch Manny at some point in time with a counter punch that floors Manny...especially given the volume of punches that Manny throws...that fact that he didn't lends support to the boxing skills of Manny (or the lack thereof of JMM)

I agree that JMM has cleaner punches thereby having the higher percentage. But the thing that counts is the total landed which I think goes to Pacman due to the volume of punches he threw. IMO, the decision is good.

robbed or not, marquez should just suck it up. if marquez want a clear win, he should have knocked pacman out cold then there will be no questions asked.
marquez walked away with $5M+ and already got some good cars lined up in your garage, so suck it up! |

i'm a big Pacman fan...but was not impressed with the fight. however, i don't understand the folks that say JMM should've won when he spent the entire fight going backwards. he was never the agressor, spent the entire fight backpeddling(counterpunching was his gameplan...i know), and never landed a hard enough shot to even wobble Pacman. both fighters landed some clean shots, but when you're the challenger, you've got to fight to TAKE the belt. JMM clearly did not do this. |

This will change your opinions on why the fight was that close.

Across the pond they're pretty convinced Marquez won, and yes when you're boxing toes get stepped on:
http://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/sport/story/121361.html "Juan Manuel Marquez won his WBO welterweight title fight against Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas at the weekend, there's no doubt about that. He was robbed. I watched it twice, and both times I gave it to Marquez nine rounds to three or possibly eight-four." |
