Yes, about 3 miles from me. Scorpions are hit and miss around here. In one neighborhood, some houses may have them, some don't. Some neighborhoods have never seen them, and some are plagued by them.

yuk, that's not good. Wonder if the city have any plan to address this issue. Glad I only visit the vegas strip. I hope they don't invade the vegas strip.

Snakes. Grew up in So Fla during the 70's during all the development so there were still plenty of snakes around (and gators in the canal behind our house).

Always had to watch out for water moccasins trying to get in the boat too ... nastiest creatures on earth.

Had a snake charge out of the reeds at me while I was swimming in a spring up near Ocala once too.

Deathly afraid of snakes.

Don't much like parrots either; that's a weird one. My Dad had a pyshco african gray when I was growing up and thing bit the shit out of me one time. Been really wary of parrots ever since. Not many people know that it's not much work for a medium sized parrot to take a human finger off if they want.

basically anything creepy crawly, like beetles, centipedes, etc.
snakes, ants, worms, most spiders don't bother me.

Down in Sydney, Australia i see around 4-5 snakes (Red Belly Snakes) every summer. It's not bad compared to rural Queensland where they see snakes everyday. I hate snakes, they are absolutely lethal and very hard to see on grass. I was 2 feet away from a very lethal snake and could not see it until my best mate alerted me. I HATE SNAKES

Same with me, I can't stand any insect but like many others, roaches and spiders top the list. Roaches aren't a real problem here but spiders tend to invade my house when it gets cold like now. I'm always afraid they'll sneak into some dark corner and breed. Centipedes and millipedes really get to me too, they run so damn fast and if I catch one in my house and step on it a split second too late, the front half continues running across the floor and under some furniture.

Snakes, frogs, rats, mice, etc... don't bother me at all though.

Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_centipede These are the buggers I'm talking about, found one in my bathroom once and another in the basement, freaked me out!

I am the same way, I cannot sleep when I see a roach. I have to try and kill it. Many times, could not keep up with its speed so I loose and I am constantly on the lookout for it and go into battle until it dies. If it is still alive somewhere in the house, I am very uneasy and looses sleep.

same here. and if i get too tired to look for the roach and kill them i sleep with my blanket all over me like im a mummy. i seal my self and make sure spaces are tight enough to give roaches hard time getting through my blanket if they'll try.

no, cuz they don't come into the house like the freaking roaches.

Nikki and just4kickz can be on that fear factors show since you gal/guy are fearless. Wait until they strapped you down in a box and dumb scorpions into the box. Then we will figure out if you are telling the truth or not.

I hate roaches, I haven't had much experience with scorpions, but I am sure I would be batting at one with a stick or anything.

That is awesome how they glow though, saw it on TV a while back.

Do all of them glow, or only some?

An outer layer that makes them fluoresce green under ultraviolet light is called the hyaline layer. Newly molted scorpions do not glow until after their cuticle has hardened. The fluoresent hyaline layer can be intact in fossil rocks that are hundreds of millions of years old.
