Guys, its an Escape - as previously mentioned. The real article actually states that they figured a smart car might have faired better as the roof is stiffer.

Well, I will admit, that a smart has three lug wheels and this appears to have 4 (but maybe its my vision) but I don't see anything else definitive. But, the PIC someone included seems to show a escape with 5 lugs.
Having played the snopes game with the various fedex/DHL virus notifications (and others), I can tell you its not more factual than google.

There's just simply too much metal (or plastic) between the trucks for a Smart car...
If its a Smart car...the rear truck would simply just rear-end the the truck in front....
