Here's an idea, now that you have a new toy, you might want to sell me a set of wheels from your e90 collection *koff* 159s *koff*...that might help bankroll your expedition

well theres a new twist to this. I found out that rod bearing recall hasnt been done, so it would be done during the PPI next wk at the dealership.
The dealership said to get the engine work done is a good thing, or its like getting a new engine, plus if it doesnt get done the engine warranty up to next year/100k miles will not be honored. They assured me that its done by factory skilled season guys.

It would be there for two days. After which there is a break in period.

the question now is, Would long distance driving even at low speed, be bad for the engine in a break in period?

Sleeping? You are suppose to take cat naps on the side of the road at rest stops or alternate while the other is sleeping. My younger early 20's were full of long road trips and crazy places. It was so much fun!

yup! the key word is younger days.... lolz
..come to think of it now those were precious moments, glad someone can relate!

Cat naps on Rest Areas and a wet towel around the neck too btw... driving on an wide open flat road, where all you see only a single road silohuete towards the orange/blue horizon, and trying to beat daylight.

listening to the same set of songs over and over until you can realized you know all the lyrics and what songs comes next.

yup, i agree
its a great land, very enjoyable... this would be the time where RFT can be called into action

well guys, I flew to Denver and saw the Cabrio, it was love at first sight

Denver Weather was hot and seeing an immaculate car with no dings, I cant see driving it xcountry and take the bugs/rock chip abuse.

I decided to transport it. It was a decision between DAS(Dependable Auto Shippers) and Intercity lines.

Originally, I opt for DAS since they are a bit cheaper for close transport, however after reading their Epinions 50/50 rating online, I felt it was too risky that I may belong to the other 50% that didnt fare well. DAS has bad reviews
http://www.epinions.com/hmgd-Moving_...Moving_Service

So, Ive choosen Intercity line w/c carries a 100% favorable rating.
http://www.epinions.com/hmgd-Moving_...Moving_Service

I left the car there with a shipping schedule pickup the day after I departed
and sure enuf, Intercity lines delivers what they promise for I got an email from the seller this morning:

Hi Al,
It was great to finally meet you in person. Intercity picked up the car today,
and it got away great. Another M3 is riding beneath it, and a Porsche Carrera
GT behind. ENJOY!

heres how I envision the car pickup went
http://www.intercitylines.com/downlo...bo_loading.wmv

Im posting my experience for others who would be in a similar situation and are torn on which carrier to choose. In my experience, if I dont use Intercity lines, I wouldnt have it any other way but drive it.

Hope this helps E90post members in the future

I hope your transport goes well. You need to follow-up and let us know if you received your car without damage and on time.

How were the prices if you don't mind me asking? I shipped my SUV from SC to HI and that was $2200 in an open transport door to door delivery.

Well, the car arrive last night, 10days promised made, 2 days into delivery date got a call from the driver, he also gave me heads up that I'll get a call 2 hrs from arrival time. He gave me a blow-by-blow account every hour to mins of when to expect him.

These Intercity lines guys are Pros, no wonder they get 5 stars rating all the time at epinions feedback site. They do Jay leno's and other named celebrities to include Barrett-Jackson auction cars.

I highly recommend this company to e90post member who would need a car transport in the future. My car Arrive-Alive 2 thumbs up

too late, I'd didnt want to ding it with rock/bugs etc, plus the heat wave mid-west would take a toll on the car and me. maybe some other time
