A major problem in people dieting is that they do not pay enough attention to sleep. An average person needs 8 hours of sleep atleast. Now i'm not a dietition but feel free to look it up on google. here i'll try helping: http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/?q=...ed+to+sleep%3F

Lol Sara, working out only builds muscle if you work out/sleep/and eat to build muscle. Otherwise, and especially for girls working out = losing weight.
Get some True Mass by BSN off of Amazon for $40. That's my weight gainer. 800 calories per shake...and drink whole milk, not that pussy 2% breast milk. And no offense, but I think your mom may be slightly retarded if she thinks you can gain 5lbs in a week. |

don't forget to drink a lot of non-light beer...the darker the beer the better. you get the double whammy with all the sugar that's in beer plus all the calories, carbs, etc. of heavier beers.

You're not going to be able to gain 5lbs in a week, and even if you could, it wouldn't necessarily be and indicator of improved health. Trying making a point to eat and extra healthy sized meal a day, get plenty of sleep (yes this will help), continue or start exercising, and try to make a point to relax and decompress sometimes (bubble bath, steam room, jacuzzi, etc.).
100lbs is too light for someone who's 5'3", but there should be no race to put on weight. If in doubt, make an appointment with a certified nutritionist. |

Well, you're a bit on the light side as well, but if your doctor doesn't say anything and you don't any issues then I wouldn't worry, especially if you're young. Sara, on the other hand, mentioned that she has lost a considerable amount of weight due to stress. I'm not a doctor, but in all cases if you're worried about your weight I'd recommend consulting your doctor and a nutritionist. There are methods of measuring your metabolic rate and calculating what your caloric intake should be. A doctor or nutritionist can help you formulate a healthy plan to try to achieve your goals.

bread+pasta=carbs. when you eat, eat high carb foods. When women work out its not the same as men, you can't make sheer muscle weight as easily as men can... testosterone is the key that missing for that.
also try not to gain sloppy cheeseburger weight no need for high fat content, it'll just raise your cholesterol not your weight. If you gain mass instead of fat it'll stay on longer and also not make you look like you gained weight "jell-o" weight but just a small amount of bulk. if worst comes to worst drink a few dark beers a couple every night (Guinness or some other kind of heavy stout)... not saying become an alcoholic but women seem to gain a few pounds after some beerz both in the mammories and glutes. Late at night pizza seems to do the trick for most people too. |

dude I barely weight 180lbs and I promise you I can gain 5lbs in a matter of a few hours. It's called Giordanos deep dish pizza and it's the stuff that heaven is made of.

some guys just can't gain weight. I've been trying myself and it's pretty hard. I'm on TwinLabs 100% whey protein. 3 servings a day plus your regular meals. I work out also 3-4 times a week. i haven't gained any weight but I've put on some muscles. maybe i'm converting my fat to lean mass thats why i'm not seeing the weight change. But you should try the protein shakes and like another member said lots of meat.

You just have to know what your maintenance point is and try to eat right. 60% protein intake 35% carb intake and 5% fat intake, again roughly. |
