I'm not driving a station wagon looking vehicle no matter what they put on or in it.
The Q8 is one sexy MF! We considered one before grabbing our X5 xDrive50i. It is considerably smaller overall. I'd rock the shit out of this Beautiful Beast. Last edited by TXSTYLE; 08-15-2020 at 10:59 AM.. |

As far as coupe style SUVs, the Q8, Cayenne Coupe, and Urus dominate.

Had an RS6 on order for spring delivery. Walked into local dealer that had an RSQ8 and was blown away. It was parked next to the new all road which is same size as RS6. The RSQ8 and Wagon were the same length and width. The rear trunk space of the wagon was smaller that what I imagined. The RSQ8 was basically the same size but taller. Canceled my rs6 order and got an RSQ8 instead. ETA December.
Coming from a pick up DD which I love. Being somewhat tall (6' 2") I'd rather hop in and out of the SUV than the wagon 10 out of 10 times. Performance is same. Both look mean as hell. I have a manual GT3 for the weekend and track. The suv makes way more sense. Wife, son and dog can all ride with tons of space to spare. Could easily tow the GT3 to the track with its 7700lb capacity. To me this is the ultimate daily driver. Also the pics and video don't do it justice. In person it looks 🔥🔥🔥🔥

With all that out of the way I think it's kind of stupid to buy a performance SUV and slam it but to each his own. |

The solution to the SUV/Sedan debate is easy, GET A MODEL Y PERFORMANCE! It can beat 911 on track while having enough space for 7 seats. It beats RSQ8 in 0-60 too. Best of all, it won't burn a hole in your pocket buying gas.
Honestly, if BMW doesn't move to performance electric cars soon (no, not that ugly slow i4) it's gonna lose a lot customer including me to Tesla. As for the SUV vs Sedan debate, unless you plan on tracking your car, it's silly buying a track oriented performance car that's defeated by the speed bump at your local mall. SUV/CUV allow you to navigate the shitty B roads in north america while allowing you to carry way more gears to go on a road trip. If you are into the outdoor at all that is. And who doesn't enjoy a power lift gate for day to day shopping in a grocery store? How do you even shop in Ikea without a SUV? To me, SUV makes more sense than Sedans for almost everyone. Because of weight and height, an SUV normally costs more and every performance metric and mpg is at least slightly worse compared to the comparable car.

It's irritating when I find irrational people who automatically think whoever brings up Tesla is a Tesla fanboy. How about you come up with a strong argument against it instead? |

Have you even driven a fast Tesla? I can guaranteed that it will make you hate how slow your cars feel after. But I am talking about track time, which electric cars are seriously taking over.

The topic is should people hate performance SUV? I think it's silly to hate a vehicle that can carry people and things fast and efficiently from point A and B. That's what a car is literally designed for! If a person want to carry more things fast like with a RSQ8 to go to point B, it's more power to him! If you want ultimate efficiency in terms of your money to do that job, don't get a RSQ8, get a performance Model Y. If you want to track day car, get an Atom. Well you required clarification of my "hook", so I did by providing the link to support my argument that Tesla Model Y had indeed beat 911's track time. But I guess from your point of view, it must seem like I'm only talking about track time as I seems to be presenting evidence contradicting your arguments. It's not, I'm simply presenting evidence defending my hook, which you in turn wrote off implying 977 is not a capable car: First let's dissect this statement. "10+ year old car"? No, it's a generation of Porche that was into production until 2012. Second, is it capable? People lauded this generation of 911 as possibly the best generation and did remarkable time on Nurburgring. So it's definitely capable as a competitor as it will destroy most modern cars on the track. Then I went to reply to other members who actually read my post and replied to them regarding SUV vs Sedans as you seems to faded into background.... until you came back hating on GLA45. So no, I'm not talking about track day car, simply defending and providing evidence to my statements like a good poster would. |

I think I would still get the Lamborghini, or the Cayenne. But these are big vehicles. They need big hp numbers because they are tyrannosaurus sized. I drive my 2017 Macan Turbo that will be four years old in a few months and can’t think of anything I would consider replacing it with right now.

3 series 26/33 - 30 combined --- 15% better Acceleration, handling, braking will also follow the same path. "Similar" aka worse but close enough in your mind. I prefer to RWD for the same reason, 98% of the time I don't need or want it. You can create a "best dollar/performance" criteria for anything if you create the metrics.
