I once saw a Ducati rider at a trackday wearing a T shirt that said:

Magneti Marelli is Italian for Lucas.

I only think about three out of a hundred got that one.

Magneti Marelli is Italian for Lucas.

Maybe I'm losing my mind, but I think that I remember seeing their label on the iDrive NBT controller box in my BMW.....

Not really Lotus, think a R&D probably come from its Chinese parent company (though to their credit, even the Chinese parent is quite a bit smaller than BMW, though given its growth probably more in the spend mind set)

for electric reliablity...i'm not worried if its chinese. i'm sure its more reliable with chinese electric motors then british ones. The chinese government already stated that its 2025 made in china goals is to be world leader in electric and battery technology. So i'm sure they'll have the full funding of the chinese government behind geely

The geely relationship seemed to work for volvo...there in a much better position then they were when they were owned by GM.

I'm just glad lotus is still around..if it wasnt for a company like geely...lotus would've went bk.

think you and I agree, I'm not Chinese bashing, I'm saying this wasn't really about Lotus being so small able to but BMW being that big couldn't, more like it's due to Lotus's chinese parent company

yeah i agree with you as well. Without the chinese money and research resources there would be no car. They could barely make evoras before the chinese money came in.

They couldn't even sell elises in the US anymore because they didn't have the money to redesign their air bags to be two stage to meet US crash standards.
