Big dinner with lots of carbs before night of heavy drinking. Two Asprin prior to starting the night.
When you get home, take two more asprin and a vitamin. Chug a glass or two of water, half bottle of gatorade. Upon waking up chug the other half of the gatorade as well as another bottle. Take another vitamin and provided your stomach feels like it, eat. Oatmeal is a great choice. |

There are many theories about what causes a hangover. Some do feel it is a mild form of withdrawal. Aside from being a CNS depressant, alcohol stimulates your body to urinate more, so dehydration is a big factor. Your blood vessels (peripheral ones) also expand. This is why the old St. Bernard dog carried Brandy. It made the outside of your body feel warm by expanding those blood vessels, which is actually bad, because it drops your core body temperature in the cold. Other people feel that the aldehyde end products of alcohol metabolism contribute to this, which I personally doubt, because a lot of us Asian people know how that feels and makes our faces red. There may also be some additional by-products of alcohol metabolism or "extra" ingredients that in combination with the above influence the body.

simple...
I eat after I leave the club/bar..anything...McDonalds, Chinese or whatever is open still. Something with carbs to soak up the alcohol in me. I get home, drink some water and pop 2 advils and I wake up ready for work or whatever it is I have to do that day! WORKS EVERYTIME!!!

I have a routine i do if i don't want to get a hang over....sleep 4 hours, wake up take a huge shit... i mean force everything out, chug bottle of water/gatorade whatever...and then take a nap again and wake up in a few hours...try to eat something with broth and drink a lot of cold fluid...
find out what your body needs, and follow what it's telling you. Taking a huge shit always work for me.

What I usually do is pretty much similar to what Spool does.
1. eat a meal before you drink. Rice works pretty good because it's heavy and can absorb the alcohol (any flour-base food should help but IMO rice works best). Also remember to drink water before taking shots. 2. eat or drink water while taking shots/drinking beer helps. 3. drink a lot of water afterward. It will help filter out the alcohol out of our blood and keeps you hydrated. |

Be like Mike!
If water is too flavorless for you, then I would recommend Gatorade.
A big cause of your hangover is due to dehydration. When your body is dehydrated, you lose the sufficienet amount of electrolytes in your system. This is where Gatorade comes in, it replenishes the sodium, potassium, and chloride (electrolytes) levels in your body. Make sure you drink it at room temperature, as your body would absorb more as opposed to having it refridgerated.
