I've been thinking about etched concrete for the workshop, and possibly for the garage.
___________________________ I've walked on those garage floor tiles before, and they felt kind of funny; I think they'd take some getting used to. I don't like the full plastic sheets either. I'd be afraid that they'd curl up on the corners or edges. Although the epoxy floors with the flecks look great, I don't think they'd last long. Ideally, a solid surface floor, over the concrete, would be best. Something that is glued down. I've been looking for something like that off and on for about a year, with no luck, but I'm sure it's out there. Maybe a big linoleum-like sheet, something like you'd see in a hospital hallway. I Googled 'commercial flooring', and found Armstrong's vinyl flooring: I don't think it's durable enough, but it comes in big sheets. I'll keep looking. |

Found a promising epoxy coating system - Dur-A-Quartz, for industrial applications.

I've been researching this subject for a little while since I will be moving to a home with a decent sized garage space.
So far, the Racedeck floor tiles seems to be my top choice. I keep hearing horror stories about the various epoxy options (peeling, etc). The GarageMahal site shows some amazing work, but a bit over the top for me. Keep the ideas coming!

What ceiling height do you have in your garage? Usually, I see lifts in garages with extremely high ceilings, but you seem to get by just fine.

Haha... not until next week. Drove the car today and it NEEDS tires. I'm talking epic lack of grip, and with that much tq and that little weight back there, it's scary.
Will report back after new tires. Mmmmm.

It looks empty because I took pics before I bought the house - this garage was the reason I bought the house (and the lot size). Quote:
For my garage, it was kinda expensive. It was about $2.5k worth of plastic. Thanks.. The garage is filled with stuff now. After two years, I finally was able to get one car in there after a week of clean up. Quote:
Nice. My current garage is less than 8.5 ft high. my previous garage had 12 ft ceilings but the garage was about 1/4 the size. I wish my current garage had higher ceilings as I have a lift I have not installed. I will put that lift in my 8.5ft high garage. I am thinking about removing portions of the ceiling so I can raise the car higher. Quote:

How about this garage??
Yes, I know the picture is of an F1 car. But do notice, that it's in someone's private garage, and notice the cars behind it!! No, it's not mine obviously. I do wish though. I know the thread is "show YOUR garage", but this garage is too cool to pass. The garage belongs to Koji Aoyama. He's in his early 30's, and comes from family wealth. He's said to be the Japanese Paris Hilton. He's gay....very flaming gay. In the picture are just a few of his collection...white MC12, white F50, white Gallardo. His other cars includes a: silver F40 silver Enzo with BBS rims black F430 white F599 Maybach 67 white Phantom silver CLK DTM black G55 black 997 TT Cab a couple Aston Martins (i forget which ones now) black SLR and obviously....the F1 car, which you need to be a VIP Ferrari client to achieve. None of his Ferraris are red, except the F1.
