An easy decision, the M5 is the better car. It's more practical, it's prettier, it's 97% as fast in acceleration and around the same on the track but best of all it's an almighty £20K cheaper to start with and holds more of it's money when you come to selling it.
If you really wanted a coupe then you would be plain mad to got pass the M3 as it's a better car than the M6 hands down. |

This must be different in differing countries because I have seen less than a year old M6 sticker-ed at £54K which on that particular car was a drop of £28K, that's is a percentage drop in less than a year of 34%.
34% within a year is not great and something I wouldn't be willing to put up with, that is for sure though others clearly are. I would put this down to the press reviews that the M6 got at the start which basically couldn't see a way of justifying the increase in price over an M5, something I happen to agree with. This is not to say that the M6 is a bad car in any way only I reckon it's over priced for what you get. And by the way that was the sticker price and not what the car may have sold for which could have been even less. |

I drove both at the M performance driving school, and I was very very impressed with the M5 and not so much with the M6. Maybe it's because I had better expectations with the M6.

If i had that money id be driving one. Theres just something awesome to me about a 500hp v10 that screams over 8000rpm thats a SEDAN. |

What's the point of an M6 when you could get an M3 for less?
Pros of M6 in comparison to M3: -Badge -(*)SMG if you're into that -Spec sheet bragging rights Pros of M3 in comparison to M6: -Driving dynamics -Faster -Better looking (subjective matter) -Will most likely have more community support -Newer technology -New M-Diff allows crazy drifting Hmm...

GT3 FTW. My next car if anything would be a Porsche.
There are too many 335is out there. I also agree with L~R~G nor cal, if I had to buy a bmw again, it would probably be a M3 convert. |

I wouldn't have a GT3 as a DD. I'd take a Turbo for the extra $20k.
Personally, if I was in that price range, I'd be looking at an AMV8 or an Audi R8.

well.......bmw of riverside puts a $15k mark-up for the M5($119k)....and a $25k mark-up for the M6($146k).....
therefore; i conclude that the M6 is better.......
