100% at 10 am yesterday. A couple of emails, a few phone calls, texts and emails, some Fruit Ninja and an hour or so of video and I'm at 27% right now. I'm pretty happy with that after 36 hours....
Bluetooth, 3G and wifi all on too.

Somewhat true. Since I got the iPad2, I use it instead when I would have used the iPhone previously. Even with a claimed 10 hour life on the iPad2, I have to charge it every night.....
I did use the 3GS more because it was jail broken and I ran MyWi 4.0 to serve the iPad via wifi hotspot. Don't have that option yet on the 4S....

The battery life has something to do with iOS5.
I've had my iPhone 4 since it came out and the battery has been very good to me. Ever since I downloaded the iOS5, I've noticed a significant decrease in my battery usage time. It seems like slight decrease in efficiency if I could throw a number out there. I don't mind because it stays charged for me all day. |

To anyone who thinks the iPhone 4s battery (hardware) is a step down from the iPhone 4:
The iPhone 4S battery actually has a slightly greater capacity than the iPhone 4 battery. It's the increased RAM of the 4S, along with the introduction of more background processes that is draining the battery more quickly. ZJP provided a useful link, above, with good suggestions for preserving or extending battery life. Certainly turning off bluetooth is a big one. If you don't use bluetooth regularly, why not turn it off? Otherwise, the phone is constantly, unnecessarily searching for a device to connect to. Another HUGE factor in battery life is screen brightness. If you don't need the screen to be at 100% brightness, turn it down to 50% or 60%, and you'll notice a big difference. I've found that only in direct sunlight have I needed 100% brightness. Last edited by ///1M; 10-22-2011 at 09:12 PM.. |

Don't they give you like 30 days to return it and get another phone? Anyways, I've played around with the SGS2 and that is a definite improvement over my old ass 3g iPhone.

all these battery life stories remind me of the 3G im using right now... i don't even use apps on that thing anymore. it's got like 30 minutes of usable battery life for anything but texting. 3 years ago i was so amazed with it haha
still can't wait till my 4S arrives, but i hope the battery life gets better after a few charge cycles (thats what happened with my 3G after like a month)
