39-31 after 1st quarter, another defensive wonder to behold. Last 2-3 possessions Warriors just get a few dunks with nobody within 10 feet. I'll say it again, total shit basketball. Oh well, at least I have Better Call Saul on DVR.

Great game and the Warriors are a great team. However, the fact that the same 2 teams have been in the finals for the last 3 seasons is actually bad for basketball. There's no parity in the sport. Pretty boring I think.
Also, can people finally stop saying LeBron is better than MJ? 4th finals loss right?

Cavs blew it. And I'll blame lebron (I usually don't). After a slow start, his teammates finally had a decent game and made some hustle plays, but for the third time in a row he doesn't attack in the second half like he did in the first half. I think he had about 11 points in the second half? Kyrie finally got things going but settled for that late fade away three when they could have continued driving and getting layups or fouls. I don't know if kyrie hit a three tonight at all.
KD couldn't miss down the stretch. They look invincible now. And my goodness what is up with Tristan. Kardashian curse is still alive and stronger than ever. |

Parity is important. I don't have an answer for that. The pendulum will swing and hopefully the teams and the conferences will be more evenly balanced going forward. We had this problem in the '60s and the '80s with the Celtics and the Lakers in the finals against each other time and time again. But as a Warrior fan and a fan of the sport, watching this game tonight was not boring at all. We were watching greatness on both teams. Well fought, close game. I loved it. I thought the Warriors were going to lose and I was fine with that knowing that the Cavs fought so hard, but then somehow, the Warriors figured out a way to win. I'd would have hated to be in the Cavs locker room after this game. Talk about hurt. The Cavs will not give up. Friday's game will be amazing. JR Smith just tweeted Cavs in 7. We'll see. |

LeBron predicted dancing on stage in 2010 how many finals he'll lose and he's getting close.

If you can't beat em, join em. LeBron should sign with the Warriors for peanuts and go 82-0 and sweep the playoffs again. Now that I would watch.

In any case, Cavs has the roadmap to beat the Warriors, just couldn't execute in the final 2 minutes. LeBron and Kyrie was unstoppable in on dribble drives. Cavs problem has always been the 3rd guy. When they won last year, it was JR Smith contributing some key buckets. JR didn't show up the first two games. Warriors go much better this year. You have 3 guys who can consistently turn in 30 points games. Cavs only got 2 guys. So either Cav's 3rd man got to step up, or you got to shut down Warrior's 3rd guy.

For a team that shoots 3s so well, two possession games is easy to overcome. Seriously, Lue needs to sit JR and play Korver or Dwill. Though I admit JR played much better defense last night and actually scored 16 points. But he's unreliable.

I get that parity is a problem and the NBA has to figure it out. That said, its not just the Cavs and the Warriors. Going back to the beginning of the decades, the NBA champs include the Mavericks, the Heat, the Lakers, and the Spurs. It's not like a single team has dominated like in decades past with the Celtics, Lakers, and Bulls. Yes, something needs to change. But this is not a new problem. Regarding this year, the Warriors built their team. They did not go shopping and buy talent other than KD. There was nothing in the rules prohibiting them from hiring him. Oklahoma lost him on their very own. Winning is about talent. It's also about coaching, teamwork, training, hard work, commitment, and strategy. If the Warriors had a bunch of high-priced stars who each wanted the ball to run up their own stats, the Warriors wouldn't be in the position they are in now. Their management decisions over the past few years, their coaching, their strategy, their training, their player's selfless play and sharing of the ball, their attention to defense, their playing both ends of the court for 4 quarters; all these things have led to this situation. Maybe its time to for people to quit win-shaming the Warriors and take a second and admire what they have accomplished. If I were a coach or a manager in the NBA I'd start taking so notes on exactly how they got where they are. These attributes are fundamental to the success they have had. The Warriors do not have a monopoly on these winning attributes. While the NBA is figuring out this parity thing (that will never happen) maybe teams should put their big boy pants on and figure out how to win. The Warriors recipe is not rocket science. They did not buy their success at the store, they earned it. Remarkable accomplishment. Remarkable team. Next year or the year after, some other team will be in the zone. It won't be the Warriors forever. They can change draft rules, salary caps, break up the conferences, change the playoff rules, reduce the number of teams, who knows what else to try to balance the playing field in the NBA and the result will be the best teams are still going to win. This year, that best team is the Warriors unless the Cavs do something that's never been done before. If they do what JR Smith says "Cavs in 7" then I would be the first one to tip my hat to them. |

As long as they have the Big Four together/healthy, they will be up on top for a while. Assuming LeBron stays in Cleveland and brings his old buddies Melo and Wade to Cleveland, they still wouldn't stop GSW. I remember watching a game this season Memphis vs GSW and Memphis came all the way back and won in OT IIRC. That teams gives GSW problems and I wanted to see them square off in the playoffs.
However, in a seven game series GSW would still take them and even if the Spurs got CP3, they still wouldn't have enough. Boston is the team to watch the next two years as they have that golden nugget pick thanks to Brooklyn AND next years first round pick from Brooklyn as well. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving. Back to my point earlier in the day, I want LeBron to take peanuts and sign with GSW. They'll be dominant for a few more years so why not go undefeated the next 3 years? Only injuries can stop them from winning. |

Funny how LeBron James started this Super Team nonsense, and will now fall victim to one. The only difference is that LJ started it, and KD just joined it. I don't know how the NBA could add parity to the league, if this continues.
