Celtics in 7
This'll be a replay of the 2004 finals when the Lakers were favored BIG over the Pistons and Detroit ended up shalacking L.A. If Kobe doesn't win, can we finally put to rest the Jordan comparisons? Can't believe we're having them now.

Boston's been pushed to the brink twice this post season. They aren't afraid of anything. They also just finished their series against the second best defensive team in the NBA, so I'm sure after dealing with the Cleveland and Detroit defenses, they're looking forward to L.A.

Kobe better than Jordan?
No The Eastern conference may play ugly basketball, but the Lakers haven't seen defense like this in the playoffs. They were on Kobe like a fly on *bleep*

I learned tonight that the NBA is fixed from begin to end. I refuse to give the celtics any credit!!!!! In the third quarter, the officials literally sent the Celtics to line every-time the lakers scored... Rondo 10 free throws? What the fuck??????? Its utterly disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless it was Kobe or anyone else on the lakers, then it would be "good calls" and it would have been a great job of officiating by the refs. Do all Laker fans act like whining girls?
Look at the stat sheet. The one thing every "expert" said was that Kobe couldn't have an off night, and he go smothered. Pau and Odom didn't step up. This is going to be the Laker/Detroit finals redux.

Any blind idiot would've seen that the ref's were pro-celtics... First half Back-court violation on the lakers called second half for the celtics not called. First half Pau called for a foul clearly after he had blocked garnett; second half celtics hack the lakers no foul called. How do you explain kobe shooting 5 free throws and Rondo shoots 10? Explain that, don't let your hate for the lakers and kobe get mixed up with the fact that the refs were wack!!!!!!

As an knicks fan, it's my duty to have a distaste for both teams. I like Kobe, I like Garnett, and I like Pierce for what he did to Lebron, so I watch. But the game wasn't rigged. It's the result of the Lakers lack of defensive help. You can't leave Fisher alone guarding Pierce. You can't leave Radmonovic alone to guard Garnett. That's boneheaded. And why in the universe do you play Vujabitch that many minutes. I try my hardest to root for the Lakers and they play sloppy uninspired basketball. It's not like the Celtics were that much better. I don't understand Rondo-mania and I think Cassell had a better game and didn't get enough credit. At the end of the day, I think this was one of the sloppiest, most uninspiring game 1's I've ever seen. All the Lakers-Celtics hype... Stern would've been better off rigging the league for this finals matchup when both teams were ready to be there. Neither side played solid team offense for more than a 2 minute stretch. Nothing but 1-on-1 and a bunch of turnovers, with some garbage buckets inbetween. Seriously, Spurs-Pistons isn't more exciting, but at least the things happening in the game don't make you cringe at sloppy basketball.

It's Boston's defense plain and simple. Still early we'll see how the Lakers adjust for game 2. Odom and the Laker bench need to step up even more so than ever.

Last night was bad... really bad... I'm a HUGE Lakers fan but last night's game was U-G-L-Y! This was NOT Lakers basketball. Every series I've seen to this point when the Lakers lost a game it was well we just need to do this or that. That game we got KILLED! 88 points? This is not Lakers style basketball at all! They made Kobe work hard on both ends of the court. Shots were not falling and we had to do all kinds of work on the defensive end for a team that is all about defense. ie. Kobe switching to Cassell so he won't punish Fish. It seems that for every advantage we have they have a way of taking it away. Garnett was high flying too! MAN! He looks like a new person! The only way I see this coming around is Black Mamba has to start from the word go and push. He's got to both score and pass throughout the entire game. No doing one then the other. He has to keep them guessing the entire game! We also need Odom to raise his game. I think he's the only one that can box out Garnett and we need to rebound! Lastly I see Ariza playing a HUGE roll here! Yes he's just coming back from injury but I think we need his D! I like him in there a LOT more than Fluke Walton! And that's just the type of move Phil makes in the finals. Remember Tyron Lue defending Iverson when even Lakers fans didn't know who he was! We have to right this ship in a hurry! Don't know if this young team can rebound from 0-2.

hahaha, that is why we play the game. Game one was all about defense that kept the lakers in double digit. Game two the lakers adjusted a little but the celtics bench also came alive...
