What makes me laugh is that it looks like they started to sand it smooth presumably to disguise their "handiwork".

So Im guessing he has a job, money, but when he was around 32 yo, he sent me a sms, asking me if 1200$ brake job at mazda dealer for a 2008 mazda 3 was expensive. I said hell yes.

So he ask me if he gets the part , if I can do the job. Never answered since then

100% TRUTH. I work in the shooting industry. Just like 2013 we are in the middle of a panic buying spree again and I always hear from "friends" I have not heard from in YEARS. I let most calls got to VM anyway, so at least once a week I get a "Hey Man, so umm what's up? Heh Heh....been a long time! Just wanted to see how everything is going with you. Heh Heh. So anyway - give me a call when you can. It's crazy what's going on with ammo huh??? Can't find anything! So yeah, hit me up man, lets catch up!"

Which means "Hey dude I have not even thought of in 5 years, but I know you might have an inside track on some ammo for me..........."

F off. I never even call them back.

Few points (Ha! get it?) You don't feel the barbs hit you - the pain from the current pretty much overrides any other feelings you may have. It hurts like hell and essentially feels like a vibrating full body muscle cramp turned up to 11. The 5 second "ride" is agonizing, but after the 5 seconds you're back to normal.
Now the fun part - the barbs need to be yanked out. They are pretty much straight fish hooks with little barbs on them. They get yanked out in one quick pull and there is very little pain - that area is probably just a little numb for a minute or two. A Bandaid over each barb wound and you're good to go.

All true - but of course like being "knocked out cold while standing" it's not always the blow that hurts you. Falling to the floor not being able to protect your face/head while you fall can be FAR worse and can knock you out or senseless. A local cop in our smallish town where I grew up went to taser training. He was 6'6" and agreed to take a hit, but he was so tall when he locked up and fell, he went off the mat and hit his neck/head on a folding chair that had not been moved far enough away. He recovered, but the impact caused a blood clot that eventually lead to a stroke and he had to retire. He never really recovered and wound up dying 6-7 years later in his early 50's. He was in bad shape.

It was terrible. Super nice guy in good shape and loved his community, but just a silly miss calculation cost him.

A few miles away in a larger town 2 years later they tasered a attempted suicide jumper threatening to jump onto I70. He was starting to move to where he would jump from and they decide to taser him to stop him, but his momentum took him over the edge after the taser made him lose his grip. He fell 10-15 feet onto concrete on his head and killed him. Not onto the highway, but the side area off the edge of the overpass. I can see exactly what they were thinking and I probably would have done the same thing - just bad timing.

Tasers are a great tool for LE's, but they can come with side effects as well. LE has so much pressure on them, I can't imagine anyone wanting to do it no matter how rewarding I am sure it can be at time. Glad they have folks willing to do it.

There can be downsides to everything LE does, Firearm, CEW, OC spray, baton, restraint/grounding......it isn't easy to predict and the decisions to any Use of Force is often made quickly and is always in response to the actions of the suspect/accused.

I agree. Whenever I hear someone speaking ill of LE - I always say "then sign up and show us how it's done. No? Then STFU." I have many LE buddies and the crap they put up with and go through is amazing. I would not last a week.

But without fail everyone of them would dive through a window of a burning building to pull their worst critic to safety.

If anyone thinks they could make the life and death decisions they have to make in milliseconds all the time without some mistakes - they are insane. They should do a ride along for a week and see what they deal with and then tell me again how much better job you would do.

I for one am glad they are there. Not above the law, but absolutely worthy of the benefit of the doubt.
