Thanks for the part numbers! Looks like the first one (51-47-9-410-838) is for a large net (designated by Sports Wagon in the description) and the second one (51-47-0-010-557) is for a medium size net (designated by Convertible in the description). I'm just guessing, but I think the large net is better for a 5er because you can probably fit more stuff under it without it getting too stretched out.

Does anybody have either of these two who can say for sure how their experience is with it?

For what it's worth, Amazon thinks the second one (*557) doesn't fit my 5er. No such warning on the first (*838).

Let’s ask SkykingUSA and MiGs550e as I think I recall photos? But can remember who had the net.

Likewise. I have a trunk net bought several years ago and I think it’s one size fits all. Can’t remember if I bought it from getbmwparts or from amazon but it’s a BMW part.

I think my net is left over from my E60. It is kind of small and puny looking in the F10 trunk. From the picture above, it looks like it will be a better fit in the G60 / i5 trunk.

Well, I guess you could consider this a new "accessory". I decided to jump on the bandwagon and order Bimmer Utility and the ethernet OBD. Let's see what sort of chaos I can cause. I'm kind of glad now, that my last trip to the dealer only netted 11.2024.40, so I'm hopeful that the final OTA will be a higher version.

USB c to an Ethernet adapter to my iPad worked well w/o needing Bluetooth. I’m now waiting for the over the air update.

Excellent idea! That way I can get the speed of the wired connector without the bother of hauling my INPA/ISTA/ESYS laptop out to the car. I got the BU dongle the other weekend but haven’t had much time to look at it other than verifying the wifi dongle and app are working and communicating with my F10’s.

I can't say for sure, but I'd expect you won't get the 11/2024.50 update OTA. Your next update will probably be something like 03/2025.40 or something like that. Since some people already received the OTA update with version 11/2024.40, the update system might see your car as already having 11/2024.xx and not push the minor .50 update, but wait for the next major one. Good luck though.

I haven't gotten squat OTA. I am still running 07.2024.40. I really don't even know if I can get OTA updates here, since MyBMW app and profile is connected to my US T-Mobile phone, and I am in Spain. Yes, I get phone connectivity through a Roaming connection. And I do have Wifi Calling. Will see if it actually connects. Also since I am out of area, My vehicle WiFi doesn't work, and when I try to activate it I get the Bluetooth@ version is no longer compatible error. Methinks I will have to go to the dealer for any updates til I get to the states. Will see when it finally comes out.

Did your car not come with the triangle that fits in the trunk lid? Mine did. The triangle and Wheel lock key fit in the holder. The tow hook fits in a holder in the left storage cubby in the trunk. But I see that the electrics don't have the left storage cubby.

I don't think the cars in the US come with the triangle. Mine didn't. I think that's a European thing. Interesting that yours came with it, even though it's a US spec car. Maybe since you took delivery in Europe, they had to include it for you anyway?

Here is a picture of what mine came with.

Ah. It's possible. I know the law here says it has to have the triangle as well as a reflective vest you have to keep inside the car and put on before you get out of the car on the side of the road. Here's how mine came. You can see the wheel lock key under the triangle. It also came with a second key in a box with the removed standard lug bolts and a second triangle in the emergency kit.

Nope US doesn’t get it as previously mentioned. However now that I have your attention can you look on the part for a part number? Hehe. I started a new thread a month or so ago asking if anyone knew the part number but not replies.
