Yeah I've enjoyed those immensely, that ones about my 4th one. The Prensado's to the right are fantastic also...actually AB and Gurka have been my goto sticks since I got back to the states.

Just picked up a box of Montecristo #2's when I was away. There were a lot of knockoffs all along the street it seemed, but I believe I got a legit vendor and legit box finally. Paid $300 for the box, was priced a little higher, but cash was king rather than credit card.
Also picked up case of Rocky Patel's 15th anniversary - interested in trying them. Haven't yet, as its too cold to enjoy a cigar, but in a few months I'll be lighting some up. Anyone had them - any thoughts? |

St. Maarten. A place called cigar emporium, guy had it all decked out upstairs, humidity controlled and devoted to cigars. Bunch of humidors too that looked pretty good. Original retail he was asking was $360 or $380 - can't remember.
The box looked authentic, the government seal checked out at the Habanos website when I checked (before purchase), had the stampings at bottom and hologram. The feet seem cut even and smells right as far as I can tell, but I'm no expert. I guess when I light up I'll know more, but that is months away. For now they are safely stored in my humidor. The Rocky Patel's 15th anniversary cost $180 for 20. I think he might have got the better of me there, but at $9 per cigar I'm not complaining as its a heck of a lot cheaper than I can buy here. |

I picked up a box for $230 in Santa Maria at la casa habanos. $300 seems like a good price outside of cuba now. Hope you can enjoy them sooner |

Smoked the Rockey Patel Sumatra (upper left corner) last night. I usually don't mind a powerful cigar but whoa it was stout. Not Sure I'll do another.

How many siglo 4's do you have? Want some opus x? They are very very rare, most cigar shops dont have them. I have some prensados burried in there too or anything else you see that you like? Last edited by e92tt1986; 01-24-2013 at 07:34 PM.. |

Any recommendations on a good humidor? I've bought 2 cheap ones from Cigars.com that are identical and they just arent holding humidity. I have several humidification items in one of them and it stays around 65%. I'm also using Xicar hygrometers and even if I calibrate them together they read different humidity values by 3-5% difference in the same humidor.

Just picked these up today. A little bit of a language barrier in the shop, but what a great shop I found.

Now this is a thread I'm gonna post in frequently...
I am huge into cigars and go by the same handle on the cigar forums. Been smoking and collecting cigars since around 06. Presently have a 6ft tower, an 86 quart cooler or 2 for aging and a 60qt cooler for keeping my vintage cigars in (and out of sight so I don't burn through them all contantly ) Look forward to meeting some more cigar enthusiasts! Also, if you are in or around Rochester, I hold an annual get together the first weekend in June where we rent out a pavillion and people come in from different areas/states/etc and we just hang out and smoke crappy, old cigars. During this event, we also have a charity auction where we give all the proceeds to a family in need... it's a fun time! |
